Yep. I'm as guilty as anyone when it comes to poking fun at "tactical." In this particular case though, I was wondering if maybe I was ignorant in my offhand dismissal of some of the features offered on some of this "tactical" wear as gimmicks. Maybe some have merit??

I'm getting along fine meandering around in my John Deere drivin' Husker fan guise though. (Seed corn hats also work well in my neck of the woods.)

I cannot tell you how tore up it makes me that people on the internet might not approve of how I dress myself. Put me right back in therapy.

I see the word "tactical" as being used to describe shooting related stuff that isn't for blastin' ducks with gramps, emulating the black and white westerns people watched as a kid or burnin' the house down at the local ipsc match with a race holster. It's good that a 4th front that has been opened up in the gun world, for people who are interested in guns and shooting but don't hunt or compete. Even PF forum itself which has no connection with hunting, and only a cursory connection to competition could also be accused of being "tactical".

I'm waiting for a thread on how you go to the can when OC'ing an EBR. Items of concern - I lost my Trijicon front night sight when I stuck it in the toilet as I sat down carelessly.

Thanks for the heads up; I'll look at 'em next time I'm out there. Love me some Academy. And the cheaper the shirt the less I care about getting oil on it.

I've switched from photo-journalist vests to sarapes.

Do you think that is likely, Glenn?

Gander Mountain had their fishing shirts on sale last week. I should have bought more. They even make them in tactical colors like green and tan so you can sneak up on the fish better.
