    why do people feel the need to "show safety" by putting a gun to their own head? pointing it at the ground would work too... as stated before, thats a special kind of stupid.

    Yes, my uncle who was a Coast Guard helicopter pilot told us a story that he responded to a situation which was almost exactly the same(it was even a .22). He probably told us that story like 15 years ago.
