P30L with Trijicon HD-XR’s (yellow), GG SRT and 11 lb mainspring, 8.5 lbs DA and 3.5 lbs SA. 124 gr S&B. Failure drills at 20 yards with all first shots from DA. This was after 50 rounds warmup of just doing precision DA shots. Typical 3-round strings from concealment (AIWB) in around 5 seconds, with a ~0.65 split on the controlled pair and a full second on the head, so not real fast.
Been working on my iron shooting after a few years of red dot. It’s nice to find that it has actually enhanced my iron work, which hasn’t been particularly outstanding in lower level light in a few years now.
I would say I need additional work under time pressure, that group being somewhat low-left is a strong indicator. Things do get quite ugly if I push for a 2.5 second PAR at that distance. However, I suppose it’s “good enough” for the purpose.
Last week I ran a dovetail mount RMR on the same pistol and took a full second off the time required for slightly better results. And I can run a VP9 with RMR consistently two seconds faster for similar results. But, I like the challenge here.
