Too windy but a pretty nice day to knock off work early and punch paper.

    Regards.

My attempt today. Gen 5 G19 with RMR RM06.

First target was shot with a pretty bright dot (2 "+" settings above visible). My astigmatism was making the dot look like a comma so the 2nd attempt I went down a brightness and shot the 2nd target.

I'm not sure why I'm shanking shots, but I'd guess it has to do with the wobble+"now!" plus getting tired. Had to shoot 3 strings of 5.

I'm surprised by how well people seem to be shooting Tula...

I'll admit to eating a bit of crow when it comes to low grade steel cased ammo [emoji38]

I’m on my third case in 9mm. Tula and Wolf have been very consistent in 25 yard groupings and spent case ejection patterns.

Glocks only to date; a couple of G17.4s and a G45.

I’ve yet to try .45 auto because prior to the panic, S&B was 275-291.00 shipped and I always got solid performance and steel wasn’t much cheaper by the case. My son has HKs and they don’t recommend steel so I have to keep brass 9/45 on hand for him.

No malfunctions to date with steel. Sweep them up and trash them. My associate who owns the range I haunt has way too much brass on hand anyway. Probably collected 15000 spent 9s already since January. A thousand .45 once fired pieces of brass from me this year as well.

    Regards.

I have fairly hefty stacks of brass case now, and keep retaining brass because I may (soon) get motivated to think about loading pistol ammo. However, before the panic set in and steel was $123/case, I was really tempted to start buying some of the stuff. I was a bit hesitant because of what they say about it being hard on guns. I did buy a few hundred rounds of the stuff from the one LGS last week because I was expecting to shoot with a friend somewhere I didn't expect to be able to pick up brass. Didn't materialize, so it got shot on my range.

That said, when I adjusted the sights on the LTT and shot that first group and it ran a tad right, that's why I shot the second group of itwith Magtech. Group not as good (me tired, more than anything), but it's good enough for me. I chronographed some Tula, too, and it was significantly hotter than a lot of the "good" brass cased stuff.

It was time to cycle out out some 147 HSTs from my carry gun.
Cold drill for the day with a 20 second par time. Anticipated the 3rd shot and pulled it down.

20 rounds at 25 yards with the carry optics gun and Blazer brass, slow fire. First string of 10 had 3 8s, so I told myself "We're not leaving until there are 10 hits in the bull." Of course, the next string, all 10 are in the bull.

I didn't save all my targets but I shot maybe 80 rounds at 25 and found it somewhat frustrating as I keep blinking at the moment the shot breaks, resulting in a lot of uncalled 8-ring hits (typical pattern being 8-9 in the bull, 1-2 in the 8-ring. No discernible pattern to the misses that would suggest a flinch to me, they were going all over, left, right, up, and down. The blinks are pretty short, where I won't see where the dot is when the shot breaks, but I'll have my eyes open again by the time it moves off the top edge of the repair center, so I never really noticed this in drills that involve rapid shooting.

This is after 7 or 8 repair centers. Showing a left bias across 1911 trigger as well as Glock triggers. But just a hair.

Getting more consistent. Need to work more on speed.

    Today's results:

Tried some shots at 45 yards for giggles, but needs more work... Also need to figure out holdover with the RMR. Pretty good at 25 but most my shots were high and left at 45yds with 7 shots low and just left (on the cardboard backer). I was trying to hold at the top of the black but the wobble was pretty significant.

    EDIT:

Also had an issue with Wolf in my Magpul mags. It seemed like the rounds stuck together as if they were sticky and I could feel the rounds rattling around. This happen to anyone else or is it time to retire that mag?
