First attempt in a long time - noticed my front sight wasn't crisp as it could have been midway through, put the pistol down and refocused on it for a really hard focus. Scored 75/100 with 1 completely missing the paper.

    A 6'oclock hold was used, 9mm 124grain 1911 commander.

For untimed slow fire at distance Mike Pannone suggested to take a break after each shot. So instead of one ten shot string, think of it as ten one shot strings.

It's good advice - I had a minute or so left on an indoor range, so it was shot in under 30 seconds.

I can't do indoors. I specifically went to one last week because I was close enough to go. I would otherwise say I wasted almost $25 bucks, but I'll call it an investment of sorts to say that the lighting and the like just does not agree with my eyesight. I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, groups were nowhere near where they should have been. Was trying to test a new carry load, and I had to hit the outdoor a day or two later just to ensure that it was going to hit where it needed to past 10 yards.

I've had astigmatism for years, but never knew anything about how it affects the eye. I wonder in part if that's not what screws with me sometimes.

New duty pistol. Have to combat hold.....which I don’t care for. And it’s 97-3x. Can’t count today.

I feel like "combat hold" (that's "shoot the dot" right?) is nasty and makes me feel like driving w/o headlights. Gonna get a shorter front post?

Probably not....since it's my duty weapon and I am mandated to carry it as is.

It is the weapon I probably will retire with in (the Good Lord willing) three years from now so I may then. Truthfully, I wasn't that crazy about getting my G17.4 replaced with this G45 but I am digging this pistol. Ejection is forceful and consistent.

Even though I've promised myself that it's going to be a "no pistols" 2020 and ammo only, I am already contemplating buying my own G45 just for giggles.

    Regards.

Well that's superb shooting in any case. My LB Operator shoots behind the dot. Hate it but have made some good shots but still. Probably changing those out soon.

The G45s really kick out the brass!

All in the black at 25 yards is damn impressive shooting dude. Even more so with a drive the dot hold.
