ACRO on an otherwise stock G45 MOS.

Got the SRO mounted on the G45 yesterday. Got out tonight, made a few adjustments at 10 then went back to 25 for this 10 shot group. Not great by P-F standards but not horrible.

94 standing freestyle with a friends new v comp. I know 94 isn't much to brag about for this thread but it's good for me and i wanted to brush up on my da only skills with the 92d coming.

    The v comp is salivatory.

Edit - the other pic was the end of an fbi bullseye run.

Group on the left was the first 25yd shots I took this afternoon, after a brief warmup. Not thrilled with that one, especially with the fliers on the top and left side of the circle. Group on the right was the last 10 I shot at 25 after a solid practice session. 8 of 10 in the 3x5 box? Yeah, I'll take that. That was a tough one to shoot, too, as I was losing daylight, and with most of the headbox taped up, there wasn't a nice dark aiming point.

Got some of that awful Winchester steel case ammo last week, figured it was a good opportunity to take all the other oddball/student rental guns out for a shooting session. I don't have but maybe a couple hundred rounds through either of these two, so I'm not terribly disappointed.

I think the CZ may well be in for getting traded on a VP9.

Fired 2, 10 shot groups at 25 after getting rezeroed from an annual RMR battery change. 147gr Gold Dot through my carry gun with the RMR, 147gr Lawman through my training gun with a Holosun 507c V2. Man, I want that 7th Gold Dot back for a do over.

This is one of those things that just does not happen in 20 or 30 seconds for me. I tried, and it sucked. This was about 2 1/2 minutes.

Apologies if I missed any previous discussion of this, but does anyone else have a hard time getting dialed in the right sight picture with respect to elevation?

Here are some targets from the other day to illustrate my problem. All were shot freestyle at 20 yards (with my eyesight, 20 is the new 25.) The gun was a Beretta PX4 Compact (fitted with Ameriglo CAP sights and the Langdon “Trigger Job in a Box).

The first group was 10 shots SA, testing POI for several brands of ammo:

Obviously there’s some human error, but that’s why I shot 10 rounds. There’s a discernible group that shows my elevation looks OK and I need a little windage adjustment.

The next group was DA, shooting the “Consistency” drill from the DOTW forum. The tight group in the upper right are all the misses I shot trying to get one in the black for an accuracy baseline:

Both strings were slow, careful fire for maximum accuracy, and I generally called the shots as pretty decent.

P365XL with Romeo zero - ammo was Winchester 115 FP DHS training ammo.

Cold / 1st rounds of the day. I can’t do that with a J frame.

At risk of staying the obvious: a red dot totally changes the 25 yard game. I have been tracking my scores and now red dot pistols hold 4/5 of my top 500 aggregate scores. All in four months after seven years with irons.

It is jut a different league having a more precise single plane sighting system at this distance. Carry on.
