I took out my most hated pistol today, and all be freaking damned if it didn't make me look like I halfway know what I'm doing. And then I jacked it all up with the gun I actually like shooting.
Glock 22 gen 3 with Wolf 9mm barrel. Not Clusterfrack speed, but just got up and shot ten rounds in fairly fast fashion. Not entirely cold, but I welded frames for a couple steel plates I have last night, and so I'd shot them with my 92 and AR a bit prior to this.
Switched to my M9, and it sucked. Group was good, but centered 4-5" low. No need for pictures of that.
Screwed up another go at it on a fresh B8, then pastied the shot holes to make one last go with my EDC. The first four were the 10/X rings, but I saw one of the pasties get blown off the paper so I went down to sort it out so I knew what was what. And then completely fouled the last six rounds. WTF.
@spence
Ha! Funny about that inconvenient Gen 3 G22! I don't shoot a lot of .40 so I flipped my Gen 4 G22 into a RTF2 G22 because I love RTF2 and I could always convert it to another 9mm. But it shoots lights out for everything I through at it 7 to 40 yards.
Here my first time out with it, 5 shots ice cold upon arriving at the range, with gloves, from 40 yards. Pushed one off high left.

I think part of it actually has to do with the crappy trigger in the Glock. The really short 3 1/4 lb single action in the Langdon triggers makes it easy to get the whole "NOW!" syndrome going on. Plus, it seems that when I shoot the 25yd FS, the best efforts are often the first one or two and it just degrades from there. Going to give it a go here at some point with the Centurion LTT that's stock other than a 14# hammer spring and see how it compares. Might even pull out the old <gasp> XD and see what it'll do.
This precision pistol thing is going down a whole 'nother rabbit hole.
By the way, that's some pretty impressive 40 yard shooting. I'm trying to get where I can keep five or ten rounds within the -1 zone on an IDPA target at 50. It's coming along, but still got a ways to go.
I’m going to have to detach from this rabbit hole at some point. Lol
Shot about 100 rounds today all at B8s. M9 got me here at the end. Tried it at 15 yards too. Dropped the fourth shot. Knew it went wrong when I’ve pulled the trigger.
92 Compact netted similar mid to upper 80s s as the other day. It needs some work.
Side note. My LTT shoots about 4” left at 15 yards, and closer to 6” at 25. That’s frustrating.
Got five 98s in a row the other day seeking that elusive 100.
Getting tight groups with the G45.
The 3 shots away are my fault. Wish I had access to a Ransom Rest.
Didn't have a B8 with me today. People looked confused as I proceeded to staple up one index card.
Did bunch of freestyle at 25 yards with three double action revolvers. Guns I have barely shot in the last 5-10 years. The K-38 pictured has been in the family since I was like ten (I'm 62 now). The Model 28 no dash and the 3" Model ten just a relatively few years.
These were all shot double action and under one par or another with the exception of the three hits marked red right around the chin. Those were with the 3" holding center of the face. It hits low. Proper face hits were singles under a 4 second par per shot. The hits linked as five shot groups were on a 15 second par (from the 700 aggregate IIRC). I gave each gun one of those and then shot a lot of pairs from the LAPD SWAT qual - par 4.5 seconds for R2 if I was extracting memory correctly.
All the PF revolver love has been getting to me. So much fun to roll those cylinders! It must be a factor of taking me back to my youth/teens/early 20
s when all I had was that K-38 and a matching K-22.
K-38 - blue and green marked hits. Model 28 - black marked hits. 3" Model 10 red marked hits. So much fun. It was about 26 degrees and I was wearing light gloves for it all. Didn't seem to be a handicap.

Been a while since I had a go at it. First one was the usual M9 shooting the new Scorpio 9mm. Knew I pulled the 8 ring at 1:30 on the 8th or 9th shot. No idea where the heck the one at 12:00 came from. Target stand is shot up enough it's hard to find grease rings, so I'm not really sure if it's 2, 3, or 4 X rings.
Hurried the Glock efforts a little too much, hence why it's more like a shotgun pattern, but they're what I did.
