Very windy today and my “wobble” was extreme. Had to vet this prior to carrying it with duty loads. I cringed thinking of how rare this stuff is.

Gun is set up for a combat hold. I’ll swap out the front sight soon to get my 6 o’clock love on.

    Regards.

I hadn't shot a pistol since January 11th (post# 1628) prior to surgery on my shoulder. Today, I wanted to confirm the zero of the G19/RMR, since I had taken the optic off and re-installed with loctite instead of VC3. I put 5 rounds of my carry ammo (RA9T), using a pistol rest on the bench, into a very decent group at 15 yards, that didn't require me to adjust the RMR. I then ran a B8 out to 25 yards, and shot this freestyle standing unsupported in a single string without resting, with about .75 sec splits, with the same ammo:

Not a super impressive group, but I'll take it. I'm still pretty weak in my right shoulder. I had physical therapy this morning, before I headed to the range, so my muscles were already taxed, and making me a bit shaky. It's still a bit uncomfortable to hold and maintain a good isosceles shooting stance. Slow fire, resting between shots, I did a bit better, keeping 7-8 of 10 shots in the black on three different runs. Slow fire with my Browning Buckmark, I was able to keep just about all the rounds in the black, but that gun is a lazer with a great trigger.

ETA: I call that 90, with 2 X... maybe 3? the grease ring on the one at 5:30 might just barely be touching.

Found 400 rounds of Aguila 40 grain. Little G44 seems to like it.

    Regards.

This earned me a hat. From a draw in 17.something seconds with irons.

Nicely done, that ain't easy. Couple questions:

    1. What set up did you use?
    2. Has KD4 decreased the time limit to 15 seconds for red dot pistols?

    Thank you sir.

1.) This was done with a Gen 5 Glock 17 with a minus connector. Sights are a Warren/Sevigny .130 rear and a Dawson .105 black front sight. I had to play around with a couple heights to get the zero right. O, I also have a Dawson magwell on this gun.

I started the class with a new Glock 19 Gen 4 with Ameriglo Defoor sights. I couldn’t get it to group well at 25 yards. I only shot it once before the class and I was having the same issue at my home range. 90+ with the gen 5 17 no issues at all. But was consistently mid 80s with the 19. I’ve had plenty of 19s that I could group no problem so I’m fairly certain it’s the gun in this instance. I was shooting American Eagle 115g with both guns. I’m going to try a Barsto semi-fit barrel on this gun and see what it does.

2.) yes, the standard is 15 seconds with a red dot and 20 seconds with irons. I’m going to set up a red dot gun to start using because it’s the future. Either getting a Glock milled or I sort of want to try the Staccat C2.

Good info. Thanks for the detailed reply and congrats on your KD4 hat.
