I'd been shooting my Ruger Commander slightly to the left. The front sight, to my 51-year-old un-calibrated eyeball, appeared to be biased slightly right. I went to my LGS/range, where staff verified my assessment and whacked it left one RCH.

    230 gr. GDHP @ 25 yds.

To be fair, the magazine was loaded with the last six rounds in the box, and I shanked one hard off the paper at 8 o'clock. However, I'm confident that any future accuracy issues are the fault of the operator.

    Particularly since this front sight...

Looks like a sideways 8 to my eyes while I'm trying to shoot at that distance.

Time to come to the Dot Side. At 55, I'm tired of fighting my eyes. The dot (and similarly laser) allows me to concentrate on just two things - holding the gun steady and pressing the trigger.

Granted, getting a dot on a 1911 is a chore, but that's what I'm saving my shekels for right now. Got several that are going to need milling $$$.

That decision would be a lot easier to jump into if the was a consensus on "THE" mini-RDS. In addition to 1911's, I don't see a solution for wheelguns. I may try the orange HD XR front sight, as the Ameriglo one on my P250 is better than the white outline.

Be that as it may, I did just see this yesterday. Might be time to experiment.

Last 11 of the day(what was left to finish the box) I'm a junk 25 yard shooter but it came together here.

That's some kind of voodoo shit with a 26.

Though, based on what I'm poked in paper with Tula, I'm not surprised at all that the ammo would do it.

Thanks - I have a massive Glock 26 Gen 5 thread going with a lot of different examples. I also have 19’s but I think the 26 has better accuracy potential. The two things I’ve really worked on over the years was draw speed and reloads; both are where I’d like them to be based on some of times drills I run.

My 25 yard group today. I haven’t been shooting much and group shooting is something I have to really work at. I had at least three trigger presses that ended up a lot better than the should have. I’ll take it.

No, it's not pretty, but just for the heck of it, I had to bust on the PF9 and try. Hadn't shot the gun in over six months, two pasted shot holes were just ensuring I would hit the paper somewhere at 15 yards first. I might have to try it again since either me or the gun were shooting high at 25. Dropped two totally off the paper, but just hitting paper at 25 yards with a gun that sucks to shoot was good enough for me the other day.
