Officer shot in the head fights on (video)

(hope this is the right spot for this thread)
    Per NBC News:

    Dramatic shootout caught on camera
A dramatic shootout leaves a wounded police officer recovering in a San Diego hospital. The incident was caught on camera. NBCs Miguel Almaguer reports.

Per the reporter, the officer was somehow struck in the head, and the round exited the throat. Video show the officer still on his feet, reportedly still returning fire. Current reports are he is expected to live. Suspect is believed to be dead after murdering his own infant daughter and mother in law.

Excellent example of "the will to win" and a determined individual’s ability to stay in the fight.

    Pray for a speedy recovery....

I saw this video yesterday while at the gym. It is an example of mindset and preparation-never give up and stay in the fight. This is the second or third deadly officer involved shooting in about a two week period down in Southern California.

EL CAJON, Calif. — A police officer wounded in last week’s standoff-turned-suicidal rampage in El Cajon has been released from the hospital.

Officer Jarred Slocum is resting with his family after being released from Sharp Memorial Hospital Monday night, according to NBC San Diego. Police say he is doing well and will continue his recovery at home.

A four-year veteran, 28-year-old Slocum was shot in the head a week ago as responded to a report that a man with a gun had entered a house and set it on fire.

Video captured dramatic footage of the standoff, in which a bloodied Slocum fired at the gunman before collapsing against a fence. Officer Tim McFarland, his partner, pulled him to safety.
