While I've been a Maker's Mark drinker. Eli brought up Hayden's, that's been my goto for the past few months. Good stuff!!

It's that time of year, time for the Masters of Malt Advent calendar:

I get the scotch one, but they have Bourbon and mixed among others. Just got mine a couple of days ago, looking forward to Dec. 1.
One of my favorites. I tried it because I thought it was gimmicky and an excuse to squeeze $80 a bottle from Jefferson’s Reserve.
To my surprise there really is something to it. Smooth big barrel profile and a slight brine.
If you smell and taste side by side to the regular Jefferson it becomes pronounced.
I’m not a major Makers guy. Nothing against it, just not something I seek out.
I would recommend you try Makers Cask Strength high proof with a nice cherry flavor. Smooths out after the first sip.

Just got back from Costco.
They had:
Makers Mark
Knob Creek
Kirtland Costco Brand (I am not making this up)
Woodford Reserve
Some Brand I’d never heard of but it was Aged At Sea wth?
Out of that group, I think I’ll try the MM as it was 1.5 l for something like $38 IIRC.
