Agreed. Picked up a bottle of Buffalo Trace and a bottle of Templeton Rye this weekend. I should be all set for a while.

Sure, for a good single malt just a little splash to open the flavor a bit. Bourbon I like on the rocks, but I drink it way before the ice gets all melted and the result is a mixture of bourbon-like flavor and water.

I detest room temperature spirits of any kind. Drinking red wine at 75'F? I'd rather drink water. (With ice please).

My solution for bourbon is to keep it in the fridge. The fridge is a bit colder than I like, but, once you pour it into a glass something magic starts to happen.... It warms up.
No ice necessary, unless you prefer some water to open it up a bit.... Bookers, for example, needs a couple of cubes.

And I'm the opposite. I prefer cool or room temp to cold. I'm quite happy with rich, heavy beers being "cellar temp" rather than "teeth cracking cold". I drink whiskey at room temp. Even when I add a bit of water, I don't use ice cold water.

Last night I chose a more delicate whiskey, Basil Hayden's, rather than my go-to smokey bourbons. I'm a huge fan. Count me in with the room temp crowd. More flavor.

I'd join you at cellar temp, but I'd be asking for ice at room temp.

I drink my spirits at room temp 95% of the time, though I will on occasion put a couple ice cubes in mediocre bourbon in the summertime.

Ha! Found a bottle of Blanton's on Hilton Head Island over the weekend and brought it home to enjoy over Christmas.
