Christmas gifts from sales reps and front office folk...it's nice to be understood and appreciated.

That little black ball was part of the Elijah Craig gift set; pour water into the small hole on top & freeze. When you're ready to pour, pop it open and out comes a nice, flat bottomed cube that fits perfectly in the bottom of the included glass. Hadn't seen one before, but it works as advertised...even if I did start with the Bulleit.

    Surprisingly good blended Bourbon.
Great body, balanced notes of caramel and vanilla.
Among the better blended offerings I've tried.

A good friend brought this over for "Leftover Dinner" on New Year's Day. It was a surprise hit.

Their Double Rye is excellent, their Rendezvous Rye is just OK and way over priced, imo.

I'm enjoying the 68 degree January day, smoking some turkey and fish for MrsGBiv.
I hope you all are as blessed.

That mini is an Ashton Esquire. I prefer their Half Corona's for a quick cigar, but the local shop was out.
Mild, like a Romeo and Julieta, but different. "Creamier", maybe. More vanilla. Great aroma.

Their full size line is similarly good.
If you like a stronger flavor, the Ashton VSG line is excellent. My favorite non-Cubano cigar.
Cohiba Siglo IV es numero uno.

I'm not much of a cigar smoker these days... have never smoked cigarettes... but 2 fingers and a mini hits the spot on a warm sunny afternoon in January.

My future son in law bought me a bottle of their 'campfire'.
It's alright, but nothin spectacular for the 65.00 price.

I thought the double rye and this Prairie were worth the sub-40 ask. Did not like the Rendezvous at any price. Haven't tried the Campfire. Honestly, I wouldn't have even bothered with the Prairie if it hadn't been handed to me in a glass.

Rippetoe never disappoints. But he should've done better than Buffalo Trace, imho.

My wife goes back and forth between Irish whiskey and bourbon. They're not totally dissimilar despite the difference in the mash bill.

I'm good drinking with the locals in Ireland.
In Scotland, I find myself making a lot of equivocations.
Me and Peate are not buddies.

At the risk of repeating myself, I prefer the peat.
