Wow, and here I thought I was lucky to have a shot of McKenna and Bulleit bourbon provided by my neighbor last week.

    30K? Wow.

Yup, I "splurged" and spent $39.00 on a Basil Hayden. :rolleyes[I'm a big spender]
I sure hope you savored that taste.

Please, describe what it was like....

Initially oak followed by baking spice and then a sweet finish that lingers for about 5 minutes. Excellent. Not something I do all the time, lol. I wouldn’t drop $30k on it, but I’m glad I got to try it. They let me sample their latest store pick (maker’s mark private select) that I ended up buying:

They have an impressive selection of rare whiskey to try:

I need to put up a sign and start charging people, instead of giving this stuff away.

So if you like the thread's favorite Evan Williams bottled-in-bond, might I suggest the Early Times bottled-in-bond offering? Great for a $22 bottle, and the label is really cool (I'm a knucklehead who's pretty easy to please).

I also got a bottle of Glenmorangie Sherry Finish that was great but that's for the scotch thread.

This was a very nice bourbon for the money.

Is that $22 for a handle or a 750mL? The Evan Williams is a handle at that price.

My local purveyor doesn't stock the Early Times. I'll need to keep an eye out.
