A buddy brought over a bottle of Larceny on Sunday for some hoops watching.
Very good stuff if you like your bourbon wheated with nice caramel notes.

Recently discovered Old Granddad Bonded. For $22 it's pretty great. I usually buy Weller as my budget bourbon but it's often hard to find. This is a good alternate for a daily sipper or for cocktails.

My favorites (when budget allows) are Blanton's and Four Roses Single Barrel or Small Batch ... for comparison purposes.

The Weller and Old Grandad Bonded aren't as good but are great considering they are half the price of my favorites.

I tried this recently based on recs and didn't love it. The flavor was off in some way I can't describe.

Ya know, I can see that with ANY of the bourbons that folks have recommended. I think it's real similar to pistol sights, everyone has what they like, what the love and what they'll settle for.
Look! Just because we're bereaved, that doesn't make us saps!

I like it, but it definitely needs (or I need) to sit over ice for a bit to soften the burn. I love wheated bourbons. This just needs a bit of ice water and then it’s damn good.

"Aged at Sea"..... Really? How does that pass the "So, What" test?

Considering that this "old salt" was a mere 9 years old when the picture was taken, it must be powerful stuff!

Well, there's this article, "For A Faster-Aged Bourbon, You Need The Motion Of The Ocean", or maybe that's just marketing. I just like how it tastes.
