Thread: Sippin' Bourbon

Tried this at a local whiskey bar recently. Thought I was pretty good. Smooth, good flavor, and just a slight burn on the back end. I'll see how it is when I haven't had several other drinks before hand.

Finally found a Balcones that I can recommend. The BiB Rye was excellent. The back notes of cinnamon were interesting. I do regret not buying enough to try a Manhattan, but I expect my next trip to the store will remedy that.

    Bonus...

Bourbon Buddy grabbed a few bottles of McKenna 10 BiB on a drive through Arkansas. Delish. The store employee said they sold their entire case of Weller Antique a few minutes prior, all to one person. The store owner refuses to limit purchases on allocated spirits, so, Bourbon Buddy bought their 4 remaining bottles of McKenna 10.

    I almost feel bad.

ETA: The glass of ice in the background is WifeGBiv making a fruity cocktail. NOT for the Bourbon. (We are not blasphemers here!)

I went looking for Weller antique yesterday. Apparently the PA state stores stopped selling any Weller. Fortunately I am well stocked with Weller and Blantons and there is always famous grouse

Not too long ago, they had a "limited release lottery" for some Weller products and there were listings online including "casks" listed as coming soon? Now, nothing but an "out of stock" for the 90 proof. Weird.

BT distribution season delivers another score.

Plus I saw Weller on the shelf for the first time ever in FL(I had it at a bar in IL and felt the flavor profile was similar enough to Buffalo Trace that I didn't "need" one)

Tonight though, we'll go with something already open and the only 4 Roses that I care for

    I can pee outside.
My first sip since the beginning of Lent was last evening.

Willet was the choice for the evening.

Damn delicious after a 6 week sabbatical. Worth the wait.

Don't get the 1.75 liter bottle of Elijah Craig right off the bat. Wait until it's safe to lift it.

    (Hope you feel better soon.)
