Good article at recoil mag's website

Not advocating one way or the other re: the magazine or editor one v two. Just noticed this article, hadn't seen a post on it yet, and I always enjoy a reminder of the basics--with concomitant war story--so why not:

    Enjoy!

Just a note on regarding RECOIL: after they fired Jerry, they hired Iain Harrison to replace him. Iain's a former British army officer, 3gun shooter, and became an American citizen a couple of years ago. Recoil is our competition in the gun mag space, but I've got nothing bad to say about their current editor.

I've been very happy with a lot of the content Recoil has come out with since the "purge" of the last editor. A lot of top name guys doing articles and regular columns. The best part is I feel Recoil does a good job of targeting the newer generation of gun owners. While Guns and Ammo have adapted, Recoil has from the start been targeted at guys who like plastic and aluminum and don't fall into the Fudd camp. Add to that the indulgent 4x4 feature every month, glossy photo stock, gratuitous gun porn, as well as the last page "porn" shot, and I'm a subscriber.

My wife has been with me for 20 years. She does all the leg work at restaurants without thinking. Gets the correct tables and seating assignments without me needing to say a word. Even my kids 10 and 7 understand the concept. Heck my boy scouts a bank like the best of them.

It was the best hiring decision they could have made. I told Iain that at NRAAM, and I wasn't even trying to suck up.

I can explain it to you. I can’t understand it for you.

I did not know that. I had always avoided RECOIL because it frankly smelled like dudebro to me, so I didn't really get into the fracas when they got into trouble. I never even noticed that they brought Harrison on board. I might take another look.

Is that like the way Axe smells?

It's like, this, like, energy, you know? And it's like, they're giving it off, and I'm like, receiving it? And then I want to hit them in their stupid little faces?
So, yes, exactly like Axe body spray.
Please don't any dudebros take this personally. I have 17-year-old twin boys, which has led to me having issues. Bro issues.

I've never given Recoil a serious read either. It's struck me as meant for the gamer crowd living in mom's basement. I'll have to take a closer look.
