    Filler rod was chosen for lubricity, and crack arresting properties. Should machine nicely, we shall see

    Bill,

    I assume that you're building up ultra-hard bearing surfaces, not repairing damaged rails?

    Mmmmmm. Those beads look so nice I almost hate to machine them! This will be my first frame with Bill's laser welding and I'm looking forward to getting it back.

    Mr Janitor - it's a build up of bearing surfaces for refitting the slide to frame. It is about the same hardness as the frame.
