    They do AR magwells.

Well I'll keep them in mind. When I bought it I thought it'd be a simple matter of installing a bullet guide to use Bulgy mags. This particular one will need some modification of the front trunion. AR mags are way cheaper but I'd like to keep the same manual of arms for my AKs.

I decided to do some parts updating on my John-era Noveske N4 to make my version of a general purpose carbine.

Swapped out BCM KMR for Geissele Mk8.
Removed T-2 and installed a Razor Gen II-E in a Badger Recon Unimount.
Swapped M300A Mini Scout for a M600 Ultra Scout in Arisaka inline mount.

Tell me more about this offset optic situation. I don't think I've ever seen one set up like that before.
Full disclosure: I am a freelance professional photographer/cinematographer for the firearms and defense industry, among others.

I was into 10mm Auto before it sold out and went mainstream, but these days I'm here for the revolver and epidemiology information.

    Marlin, yes?
    30-30, or 35 Remington?

Yessir. Marlin 336CS of 1988 vintage in 30-30. I'm in Southwest Washington, and .35 Remingtons are pretty rare here. The cartridge just never quite caught on. I've thought about getting one for elk, but if I'm going to pick up a lever gun in something other than 30-30, it'll probably be 45-70.
