    Some of the EU/Nato SF (british SAS) run the laser further back due to weight / balance. FBI regional SWAT has been doing it for a couple years both for balance and because they simply use white light much more often than the laser.

    That being said, most of the folks I know are pretty adamant that the best position remains as far up the handguard as possible.
