    365 Clones

I bought a Tacops and liked it so much I built a Clone. Brownells XL Optic Milled Slide and Barrel. Installed a 407K2 and a set of SIG Sights and a Macro Grip Module. They shoot great and I always have a spare if needed. Started sighting in at 10 yards then final at 25 yds.

At the very first Vickers class in Va, run by 10-8, TLG had a full auto version of that carbine(552?). He was working for Sig at the time still. John Noveske was in the class also, and he had a 10.5 AR with his Pig brake on it. Vickers was trying to do a demo with Noveske’s gun, and it kept choking. Larry asked Todd to get the Sig, and did a 30rd mag dump with it on full auto to bust Noveske’s chops.

Anybody else in that class on here?

Should have known…I’m scrolling through pictures and like “GD! Nice photo”. Then I saw who posted it. Another one for the folder.

We finally transitioned…from the M9 to the M18. Just finished the first qualifying course and snapped some pictures of “real “ M18s. We also dropped the Blackhawk Serpa holsters in favor of the Safarilands.

Brown boots, even on the range. Nice. Love the adherence to tradition.

What did the transition course consist of?

Sigh….sadly, the aviation community is very much a case of the blind leading the blind. Our pistol “coaches” are an E4-E5 (occasionally an E3) who a)shot expert on the rifle range b) can be spared from their daily duties, and c) we want to promote/retain so we use the position as a good deal. The actual coaches course is a week of half day classes explaining the fundamentals of marksmanship and showing examples of sight picture/sight alignment but mostly explaining the course of fire.

MY transition course was said E4 asking if I remembered the difference between a tactical and emergency reload.
