Picked up new (to me) P30V3

After my wife picked up a gently used P30 for our anniversary several months back, I decided I also needed one. Well I stopped in at my local range today and the salesman had a rather large grin on his face.....I had him on the lookout and he had come across another slightly older P30. The test fire case was marked 10.01.08 Gun looked well taken care with no visible external wear. Internals looked just as good. Price was $709 + tax. I took it to the range and pulled out a 49 / 50 at 6 yds on DT..... I think its a keeper.
Taking a break from social media.

Wow, you gotta deal on a clean gun. The used ones if they can be had in my neck of the woods are going close to $900. Good shopping and happy shooting with it.

congrats on the pickup. i got one at a similar deal. i dont get to shoot it as much as i'd like because im afraid it will make me want to change out my entire carry setup which is currently glock.

Too late for me. Got a steal on a lightly used P30L (~200 rounds fired) for $675. Another 200 rounds of my own through it and I was in love. Holsters and mag holders from Comp-tac should be at my door when I get home today actually.

I did run into a minor "dumb-ass" issue early on though. I normally shoot a 1911, and it can fail to lock back on empty if I go 400-500 rounds without cleaning it (which only happened during a weekend class). So when my P30L seemed to have trouble locking back, I scrubbed it and the magazines twice before finally doing a Google to figure out what might be wrong. Found a ton of posts asking the same question. Second post in every thread was some equivalent of the following:

    "Change your grip".

    [/facepalm]

Guess I need to learn to stop using the safety on my 1911 as a thumb rest if I'm going to use both.
