Thread: Some custom Horsehide Holsters

Have you made any portfolios? Something like this: http://www.leatherology.com/leather-...her-black-onyx, but in horsehide with your level of craftsmanship.
    Thanks,
    Jon

Jon, I can do this. I am thinking that the main body would be good in a Horsehide Chromexcel with a thinner pigskin lining. The Chromexcel in Horween's #8 color is gorgeous and is the same leather I use in my strops. I can also monogram it for you for a more personal touch.

This would be a retirement memento. I'll PM you closer to my date for a quote. What kind of lead time for such a thing?

About 4-6 weeks. I try to keep enough leather on hand, so that would be an outside time quote, depending on when you order. If you like, shoot me over a PM sometime soon with your time frame and I will quote you and set aside the time if you like.

Here are some recent IWB-SS holsters that went out to some forum members. This holster has been updated for 2015. While using classic lines, it uses my unique "T" reinforcement to keep the holster rigid and open, with minimal leather. It comes with sewn in sight channels and removable belt loops. The leather is molded with the pistol cantilevered in towards the body for better concealment. Loops can come in 15 or 25 degree rake angles, snap or thread through and can be configured for high or low ride when ordered.

Good looking design. I like the semi-fixed loop. I typically have trouble with snap loops and simply don't bother with them and just snap them closed first and then thread the belt through the holster loops anyway. Your's clearly won't come unsnapped when you don't want them to.

Since you are a true custom maker, I suspect the sweat shield height is negotiable, correct? We have another thread going on right now with guys complaining about sweat shield height on their holsters. https://pistol-forum.com/showthread....etech-IWB-Nano

Thanks. The way I designed it, it can have snaps or sold loops, or both based on the customers needs. On the shield, it is what ever the customer needs.

A customer begged me to build him this hunting shoulder holster, which I typically don't do. After some serious horsetrading, he is ready to roll. The holster is a pull through design for his M29. On the weak side it carries 3 moon clips and a blade. The harness is adjustable in the shoulders and on the straps. Not pictured is a full wrap around chest belt, to keep things locked down when he needs it.

Thanks! The hardest part was the moon clip pouch. Took a bit of thought on that one.
