Honestly, if I have that weekend off (a long shot) I might come. The MDTS class I took a couple years ago was at that range. It's a little drive, but I've got family about 45 minutes from the range that I stayed with before.

Regarding optic mounts, after Thursday I'll have regular access to a 3d printer, which will help verify the specs, particularly the mating surface to the receiver. There's a chance I could have a prototype done by then.

Would it help if I mailed you my plastic Beretta rail to use as a model?

Nah, I've got more than a couple already. Thanks though!

Got my bolt release shroud and dummy rounds. The gun itself should be here next Wednesday. I want to take the Chris Fry class and I'm trying to find someone to come with me. Sadly all my coworkers have new babies or new houses or upcoming weddings. I haven't decided if I'll go solo if no one wants to come with.

    *cough* about that...

I ended up having to contact Beretta due to having a kinked magazine spring out of the box, and they were kind enough to toss a couple of plugs into the box. I don't believe what Brownells is getting for these! They are press fit plastic, not threaded inserts.

In honor of getting the provisional patent filed today, I shall oblige you. It's only 3D printed, but I'm hoping to have one machined from aluminum within a week or two. There's a few tweaks to be made, but to quote Tom Kelley when he handled it Saturday, "It's perfect."
