Beretta 1301 Tactical

Beretta uses a high strength locking compound that is different from what is used by Benelli on the M4. I mounted the receiver in a vise, heat up the receiver/tube, and then clamp the tube before turning. I destroyed the the tube in the process. The removal wasn't hard but it wasn't easy like the M4 videos floating around. I used 242 when I installed the 5rd tube which should be easier if I decide to replace the tube.

I thought the 5rd and 7rd mag springs were the same. I have only ever used the spring that came in the 7rd gun. I have a Nordic spring but haven't cut it yet.

Years ago IWC made the Thorntail cantilever light mounts. Mounted on a Zhokov, they place a 300/600 head in about the same location as a MLok barrel clamp mount. IWC is gone unfortunately but it looks like Cloud Defensive is making something similar. Putting your light on the handguard makes disassembly much easier and it generally a stronger mount anyway.

Beretta has a good Black Friday sale, pro lifters and Mod 2 fore ends in stock.

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered a lifter and Mod 2 hand guard Monday evening before the sale ended. The savings were substantial.

Has anyone found a push button QD swivel that actually works with the bbl clamp on the 1301 Tactical Mod 2? Does the $55 one Beretta offers even work? Thanks!

That was news to me, that’s where I picked up my Thorntail and several other items. Looks like they are transitioning ownership and will be back sometime, from their website…

I got the tracking number this afternoon. Still hasn’t shipped, but considering that Black Friday just occurred, I’m expecting processing of orders to take a little more time than normal.

I did some searching beforehand and found the Mod 2 forend OOS basically everywhere. Was hoping Beretta wasn't out too.

I procrastinated until I had a gun in hand. I had a LNIB A300 Patrol spotted in a pawn shop for a good price and then happened on a 1301 from an individual for only $125 more after figuring tax. Picked it up yesterday and ordered these last night. That discount showing up in the cart was nice to see. If I have to wait a little bit, it won't kill me. Now I'm looking for sling and light bits.
