Hey! My name is Mitch, and I led the design team on all of the new LTT shotgun products. I'm also the guy in the videos. You are absolutely correct that the front sight post sits lower on the A300 than on the 1301 when measured from the top of the barrel, but in our testing across numerous A300s and 1301s, there hasn't been any discernable difference in POI when using the Fastback iron sight. My conjecture is that is because the A300 barrel sits slightly higher in the receiver than it does in the 1301, but I could be wrong. What I can demonstrate is these two groups that I fired today at 50 yards (standing, braced on a barricade), using Federal TruBall Low Recoil. I fired both groups using the rear iron sight on the Fastback mount. As you can see, both place hits in a down-zero circle at 50 yards. These groups are representative of the many other groups that we have shot both offhand and from a rest with multiple guns. Apologies for the linked photos, if they don't display, the raw links are here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/kDBaWt7fgL5LhPVk8 https://photos.app.goo.gl/AZ6r8h9q7BBTNT3Q8
Holding all of our slugs in a down-zero circle at 50 yards is exactly what we want in backup iron sights. Likewise, we were willing to trade the flexibility of adjustable elevation for a sight picture that is less cluttered and easier to precisely aim than other iron sight options and can't shoot loose like the XS apertures sometimes do. However, that tradeoff might not work for everyone! Thankfully there are a lot of options for anyone that does need elevation adjustment. We are continuing to offer the GG&G optic mount, Chisel stock, and factory iron sights on our shotguns in addition to the Fastback for anyone that wants another solution.
I hope that helps!
I decided to dump the CROM and go to a LPA all metal version rear sight. My original plastic rear is in storage somewhere, including the fasteners.
I tried searching the thread, but the search tools aren’t being useful.
The screws that came with the LPA sight are not the same thread as what is needed. I can’t find these on Beretta’s website, either. Does anyone know what hardware is needed? I found a Reddit thread that said M4 x 6mm, does that sound right?
Edit - I just called Beretta, they said M4 .7 pitch, 6mm long. I’m sure I can find them online.
What came with the sight:

I ordered a spare set of screws with my LPA steel sight told them it was going on a Beretta 1301 - Its been a few months, I forget which I used as they both looked almost identical, one sat slightly more flush with the sight, so I used the set that did not thread as far into the receiver - I believe @Centerfire ground his down slightly to make more flush with the receiver -
Either way the steel LPA sight was worth every penny, along with half moon aperture from Tacord (using with a Tacord 509T mount in place of pic rail)
I have been meaning to "Benelli-ize" my marine finish Panzer M4 and get another LPA sight and Benelli screws to replace the polymer sight on that one as well, but for now just have the regular ghost ring LPA aperture in it - now that gun was a real value its been flawless for me with a few hundred rounds of buck through it - its no 1301, and its not a real Benelli, but it was 1/3 the price of "big B"
The Amazon screws I ordered won’t work without turning down the heads, so I went ahead and ordered replacements from Fusion - they couldn’t do it as warranty since I bought it from OpticsPlanet. I didn’t want to return the sight, it took a few months to come in so I swore and bought the screws out of pocket. They should be here in a few days.
Great advice on removing the barrel first - I will definitely do that.

Hi all,
Is there a good barrel clamp for the 1301 that doesn't require tools to remove? I'm interested in something that allows the weapon to be broken down in the field without having to carry an Allen wrench. I'd be interested in hearing what others are doing instead of using a barrel clamp.
Thanks.
