Odd finding in new gen 2

So I'm disassembling my new 1301 Tactical and within the gas piston is this nearly hair thin metal ring loosely with the split ring or elastic seal.

    Anyone see this before?

I'm thinking it's a thread shaving from the factory or some other remnant from the machining process but either way it doesn't seem right.

I'm glad I didn't fire the gun before this initial tear down/cleaning.

Any advise or suggestions are very welcome!

    Thanks all.

Interesting they've changed the piston, etc. Mine is several years old, but looks like bare stainless.

Machining remnant, should have been removed during assembly. You're good to go.

    Nothing to worry about.

Is it the same steel underneath? What's the new finish?

    Interesting!
What is the finish on Gen 2 pistons now compared to the guys with bare stainless?

& thanks for letting me know about that machining remnant. It had me concerned for a sec.

Next I'm on to finding the best turkey choke for the 18.5" barrel...
Would y'all think tighter the better for turkey choke constriction given the short barrel length?

    Cheers

I believe a PVD, but I would have to ask again.

I would suggest an Extra Full turkey choke. See here: https://www.berettausa.com/en-us/ber...2-12ga/c622hp/

@SpyderMan2k4 when do you think the black Zkarkov fore-ends will be back in stock?
