    There's a link somewhere in this thread of Erik Stern showing how to ghost load the 1301 but I can't seem to find it.

    It can be ghost loaded, but when I tried it I had very poor reliability of the gun cycling. Maybe with full strength buck or turkey loads it would work, but I would never trust using it that way in a self defense situation.

    Exactly, this is my preferred setup for home defense. I don't use a shell on the lifter to gain another round, I use it to keep full capacity but still have an empty chamber
