This question might sound silly, but is it possible to obtain wood furniture for the 1301? I like the idea of a capable semi-auto shotgun that pretty much looks like a hunting gun, especially for going out of state to possibly less friendly ones.

I was looking at the 1301 Comp with the 21” or 24" barrel. Too long for home defense? For reference, I don't consider 20" too long for home defense.

I did a lot of research on this last year. A Beretta wood stock from a different model can fit a 1301 but the hand guard is only compatible with the Xtrema series, which was never made with wood. Best option would be hydro-dip.

The 1301T is an A400 youth shotgun receiver. It takes A400 furniture.

Interesting. Does this include the handguard or just the stock? Also, does this apply to the Comp?

How much mechanically does the 1301 system have in common with previous Beretta autoloading shotgun operating systems? Is it essentially the same? To me that would be a plus in that the operating system can claim the track record of previous Berettas.

I'm not certain on the handguard. The 1301C is a A400 3 to 3.5 full size receiver. The 1301T and 1301C take different barrels.

It is a QD mount.

Took my 1301 to the Gunsite 260 and SATP classes last month.

I fired; ~300 buckshot, ~250 birdshot, ~180 slug.

Three malfunctions - all with birdshot.

First one I think I caused myself and the other two were at night, so I'm not positive what caused them.

(Anyone got a good immediate and remedial action for the 1301?)

I won the SATP shootoff.

Some final touches on my 1301T:

• GG&G 2565-R WML bracket and I flipped it 180 degrees and mounted on the right side.
• GG&G aluminum replacement mag tube cover (my OEM plastic one had a bolt get stripped out)
• Surefire M340C Pro

This is now a very close-to-the-barrel WML set up. I’ve fired 200 rounds through it and everything functions 100% with no loosening of the mag tube cover.

You are correct! It is the 2563. I think it was the left-hand version which I then flipped 180 degrees (the rail extends forward towards the muzzle instead of rearward towards the chamber; this enabled me to mount the Surefire closer to the muzzle to minimize light shadow).
