As mentioned above: for 124 gr, .165 front/.256 rear will hit to the top of the post, or .180 front if you like using the dot. I put Ameriglos on all my Glocks.

This, absolutely. A skilled shooter can make anything work. It's nerdy fun to discuss the esoteric details of various pistols, but none of that spells success or failure.
I've tried a whole lot of pocket holsters. These are my favorite:

As for the draw, it really shouldn't be slower than a J-frame, if your...
Testing looks good.. Federal has done a fine job in general with this line.
Recoil is mild in an Airweight J. (130 @ 830 fps, compared with 135 @ 870 with Gold Dot, for example.)
What a fat, sloppy buffoon.
This is purely an unverified anecdote, but...when I came on the job in 1993, we were told of an OIS in the 80s: foot beat cop with the 200 gr RNL shot a suspect square in the forehead. It was a "one...
The G30 used to come with a flush 9-rd mag and the extended 10-rd...but the 9-rounder was really 8, because it was a feat of strength to get the 9th in there (and when you did, the mag wouldn't...
For what it's worth, our PD range had a recent lot (or lots) of Lawman 124 with occasional underpowered cartridges -- not full blown squibs, but clearly softer, with some attendant malfunctions....

The 4" guns will indeed have 3 vents on the rib, for "aesthetic" reasons. I'm kind of ambivalent on it, really; doesn't look bad, just different...
My .357 LCR runs consistently 30+ fps faster than my .38 J frames with .38 +P fodder. Gold Dot 135 clocks just under 900 fps with the LCR, and is quite mild to shoot (by my standards). This is why I...
That's a good one!
I'd like to see Colt do an aluminum frame Cobra with a spurless hammer and tritium front.
We had one as a T&E from Beretta around 2009-10, when we were looking at new duty guns. It had some good qualities, but folks were looking for a shuttle bus to get from the backstrap to the...
.32 H&R ballistics from a 2" barrel are far from impressive...more of a compromise than I'm willing to make for one more in the cylinder.
Interesting. If this proves able to reach 12" of gel consistently, with a little bit of expansion, it will be a winner.
Been holding off on buying one, for various reasons, but this is the 1301 I need.
You're one of my people, I see... While I've fixed many ailing mags for the PD, when it comes to my use I own so many that I tend to just mark them with a sharpie and toss them into a practice bin --...
Yep, I think the 180 gr .40 loads are significantly milder to shoot than the hotter 155-165 loads. 180 Gold Dot also worked immensely well for us.
The G30 is ridiculously easy to shoot well.
Over a decade ago I ran a little experiment to compare G19 vs. G23 vs. G30, all with department duty loads (Gold Dot 124+P, 180, 230). Pretty much a...
As for vetting, Lawman is great practice ammo but at this juncture I'd just fire 200 rounds of carry ammo without incident, and call it good...
I have seen (albeit rarely) new Glock mags with a bit of rough plastic flashing on the inside where the metal seam meets at the rear. I imagine this is perhaps more common than we realize, but...
Never had a problem with Lawman 124 in my PSA AR9.
As a sergeant I used to challenge youngsters to a pull-up contest while wearing all our cop gear, offering a free halfer if they beat me. None of them ever did, but I'd send them home anyway just for...
It was the testing that 5pins did (and another I can't find at the moment) that validated Federal's claims for me, and led me to start buying this stuff whenever it pops up on the market. :)
Edit...
A new production run has landed -- check Ammoseek for several sellers, with more likely to follow. I've already added to my stash of what is quite arguably the best .380 load ever made.
After 35+ years of devotion to pull-ups, I'm stronger than ever on them. I'll be 54 next month and recently did 21 at 232 bodyweight. My all time rep PR was 24 (in my 20s), but that was at only 205...
