Middle ages makes sense. Those bullets have a serious medieval vibe to them.
I bet they are fast from a speedloader to the cylinder!

I will never ask that.
There's nothing wrong to me about having extra capability in case you just might want or need it someday.
And there's nothing wrong to me with being able to shoot 2 types...
In that same caliber range G. Reeder has some pretty hard hitters but the audience for them is very small.
41 GNR #2 is the most over the top (255's at 2200 fps claimed), and needs a stretched...
That said, the Carry Comp and L Comp are very nice looking guns (to me).
But Frank Glenn will do a"Duty Action Job" for 135 bucks, chamfer the chambers for 50 bucks. Leaving 150 bucks toward sights...
How do you like the lasergrips?
If it was me I'd get the 66 and spend the $300 difference (or less) on slicking up the DA trigger pull. Fairly simple to do yourself but if you're not inclined there are smiths who do very good work....
Not my measurement, but someone else measured trigger reach on an N-frame 629 and an L-frame 69, 3.10" for the N, 3.00 for the L, both wearing the same stocks.
I don't know how the M69 reach...
I don't know why, "sporting" shotgunners have for ages added weight if needed, look at the mercury "recoil reducers".
I try to add functional weight (light, ammo, optic, etc) but if needed I'd strap...
There are probably only three people on the planet that would even care..... but my "throw it in the work truck" shotgun is an old 590 with an even older wire side fold stock.
Instead of a cheek...
It's almost too obvious to even mention, but specially with a revolver, dry fire and reload practice require no ammo and produce very good results.
Draw, dry fire, reload with snap caps, that's good...
The only Smith with lock I own is a 329PD and I depend heavily on it and carry it 24 hrs per.
I'm in the grind down nub and the possibility of it ever locking up, or, the remove all parts camp.
...
It's not trivial to me.
6 or 8 inch (or more) pattern delivers a lot of margin (when the target is moving and it's dark) over a single rifle bullet.
I'm limited to what my light illuminates after...

Mernickle Performance Series is imo the best sub $100 leather available. No affiliation and I don't have any experience with their cowpoke type gear but I've worn a PS06DA with a 4" N frame daily for...
Peruse Mernickle Leather.
The only true data I've seen is from when J. Linebaugh had cylinders tested to failure at H.P. White. The S&W M29 cylinder let go at the same pressures that the Ruger Super Blackhawk cylinder gave...
That exact thing, slight forward cant located forward of 3 oclock on the belt works better than anything else for me, right up until my day includes sitting in a chair or vehicle. Then the 3 oclock...
Linebaugh, several years ago famously said that his daily driver was a S&W M25 in .45 Colt. And he had a lot of higher powered options to choose from.
I am not that "someone" :)
Sorry.
You can make the argument that good heavy for caliber Kieth type cast out of the 357 will go as deep as needed as a 44/45, and damage vitals just fine along it's path.
But the bigger bore is more...
I'm living that too, red dots are nice but LPVO is much more versatile and usable for my beat up eyes. And that 3X (or more) is extra help when I need it. And I do need it.
Who am I fooling??
I'd rock that TODAY with a Blackhawk, IMI Timberwolf, or Ruger #1.
Like a Viking.
If they made one that fit M1 enblocs or Lee Enfield chargers, I'd buy that too. I'm really...
As a 12 year old roaming the wilds with a single action revolver, I would of rocked that like a Viking!
Yea I was just joking, I appreciate a nice blued gun but I really like well worn hard use guns more.
I guess I've learned from this thread that everyone else's K-22 looks nicer than mine :)
My grandad put a lot of food on the table with mine but it's not as purty as the ones pictured.
6"+ barrels...
