Looks like a typical BHP barrel to me. I've had several over the years. I just looked at two I have in the safe, both Browning/FN -- a 1968 and a mid '70s. Both have the same line in the same...

The 151-prefix change in the grip frame design is specific to the square butt revolvers. I am not aware of any change in the grip frame dimensions of the round butt Speed Six.
Those grips/stocks...
For me, a 1 3/4 makes a big difference vs a 1 1/2 belt. Just more surface area to distribute the weight and tension. I get dress pants that fit a 1 3/4 belt, or modify pants at the tailor as needed....
Milt Parks will still make a #1AT . Just give them a call. I just got a new one (cause one is none, two is one) a few months ago.
Don't forget the Milt Sparks #1AT . Still a great holster.
Gordon Davis made the Taylor Omega -- kind of a #1AT variant as I recall.
The Sparks 55BN and 1AT are still valid for use. Just get...
An unfired specimen. Truly a delight. You have an essentially new revolver to do with as you will. Will the value increase if it remains unfired...yes. However, an unfired Smith is only a...
A 15 snubby — worth $850 — yes.
A stinking pair of jeans can cost north of $100. A new Arcteryx shell (jacket) is almost $800. So the greatest K snubby at $850 is a buy.
My 2” 15-3 will keep them...
If it is in very good to excellent condition -- I'd say that is a great price. Check carry-up and other mechanicals. Should be a fine shooting revolver. I have an affinity for K frame Smiths and K...
Just another opinion on the large frame vs. med frame single actions...
I own several examples of each. The medium frame guns get taken out and shot, the larger frame guns don't see nearly the...
Milt Sparks will still make a Summer Special for a Colt SAA. Great holster for concealing one should the need arise. Alfonso’s of Hollywood makes a 6rd dump pouch sized for 45LC, as well as some...
Yep. I've dealt with this from time to time. Have a good friend for whom this a greater problem.
Definitely exacerbated by a tight belt/IWB carry/growing waistline.
No great answers or...
No claims to expertise here, but I've been a dedicated 1911 user for the last 30 years.
Carry-- I find a full size 1911 to be a very comfortable carry gun. Holster selection is important. I've...
I have owned M1As, FALs, Valmets and a Galil over the years. All had their strengths. I currently only have a HK91 -- the same one for the last 20 yrs.
There are an abundance of G3 parts and...
A 4" 686 was the revolver I was issued and trained with at the Border Patrol Academy. Your revolver looks to be in great condition. I don't think I would change a thing. If the carry up is good,...
Late chiming in on this thread. But my .02.
Make the trade. It is a good idea to update the internals of the USPc for the newer parts. Eliminates one worry. As a second update, I would...
Mike is a gentleman and was kind enough to share some of his knowledge with me. Because of my conversations and correspondence with him, I bought a P-93 and a PC-9.
I'm glad to see someone...
Sorry for the necro-post, but I just stumbled onto this thread.
I got to know and speak with Mike Smisko, the designer of the P-85/89/93, PC-9/40, about six years ago. I was writing a white paper...
I've spent a fair amount of time around the water in S. Florida, amidst the heat, humidity and bugs. I used a 642 & 442 with good results. They both will require diligence to fight off the rust. I...
