I use Militec-1 and to Protect Corrosion-X...used the Corr. X at work on some very expensive test equipment(harsh environment's) with great result's no rust or any oxidation.

For a semi. with a nice capacity the Glock 20 loaded with Buffalo Bore 200gr or above Hardcast is one i would choose. Hardcast is what most like even in magnum revolver's...some deep penetrating...

I would take the extractor out and really clean it good. Some have very bad build up and the extractor cannot funtion with all the gunk under there. A good gun solvent should do the trick, good luck...
