That's pretty slick!
The designation of this project as the FYNY Carbine was wrong. It's now referred to as the Politically Correct Carbine, because it says so right on the receiver;
...
The nice feature of the MS4 sling is that it can be used as a single point or traditional (two point) sling. The carbine is set up to use it either way.
I will indeed!
Final Detail
The addition of a Magpul RSA QD Rail Sling Attachment to attach my Magpul MS4 sling in single point mode. Also seen in this latest photo is the trigger upgrade described in post...
One of our greatest responsibilities on P-F is to be enablers. ;-)
See my post above, if I was staying in NH...
But even the "featureless" PC Carbine brings a lasting shooting-fun smile, and...
Knowing what I know now, if I was staying in NH I would have done the PC Charger instead and installed a Franklin Armory binary trigger and have done the NFA thing for a can - just like this;

Back from the range and all I can say is this thing is a hoot to shoot - it may well be the most enjoyable gun to shoot I've ever owned!
The indoor range is limited to 60 feet, but my primary...
Completed the trigger mods - worked out nicely! Less pre-travel, little-to-no over travel, and a quick and audible reset. Pull from the center of the Tandemkross trigger is a consistent 4.5 pounds,...
In my case, the Communists in NY might declare the hand stop is also a forward grip and find me in violation of the NY AWB.
Tiny brains tend to conflate things this way.
Making a few tweaks before the test firing;
Replacing the Arisaka Hand Stop at the 6 O'clock position with an Arisaka Indexer at the 3 O'clock position. With some experimentation I've found...
Parts shown in the photos, from front to rear;
Magpul M-LOK swivel attachment
Modlite Legacy Enhanced LED-F Light Head (850 lumen | 44,000 cd)
Arisaka 600 series light body
Arisaka offset...
The Garrison style is simply the second floor being slightly larger than the first, with the resultant overhang. Our house has about a foot of overhang front and rear, but is flush on the sides like...
Our house in NH is a 2-story Garrison with the bedrooms on the second floor. There is only one staircase leading up to it, and the staircase is easily defended from the top. While the 11-87 is not...

A single (or double) may not be optimal for clearing a shoot house, but for in-home self defense from an easily-defended position (end of hallway, behind closed bedroom door, etc.) I...
NY is going to ban Little League because...baseball bats....
Yes, 18" (plus a fraction more to avoid any measurement dispute) is non-NFA and is fine for an 870 even in NY.

The rifle is sitting at my local FFL awaiting transfer to me. Most of the parts are already on-hand, the remainder arriving early next week.
I'm hoping by next weekend to have the initial test...
My 11-87 and coach gun double will be there;

No handguns at all. I've made the decision that I'm not going to...
The entire country could use more Texas.
The Canada geese need to stay in Canada.
I won't miss having to fix the door!
Here is a photo of the neighborhood bears in our back yard, taken in 2012 from the (at the time not) wrecked porch door;

Yes, from a few days ago.
This has become a yearly spring ritual when a certain bear emerges from hibernation and remembers the sunflower seed my wife used to keep on the porch. No seed there...
There's wisdom in that statement. Aftermarket vendors make $$ by selling "upgrade" parts, whether they're actually needed or not.
I will likely run my PC9 with the stock internals at least...
Bears don't give a fuck about locked doors.

Do you have the link to those handy?
I too enjoy doing the "deep dive" on the bench in terms of disassembly to get a good look. Every new gun I've owned has gone through this to remove the...
