Sorry, I should have clarified that tradbow still requires just as much tuning and shooting precision, just IMO less tech. I respect recurve and trad shooters above all.
There are teens at my...
I love shooting archery wayyy more than burning powder. I’m also a bow hunter so my marksmanship practice and equipment is practical. I think that the opportunity to set up realistic range...
I’m envisioning something more like: “Col. Gearqueer! Thanks for taking the beach, but get your crayon-eaters off their asses now because you’re needed to take objectives elsewhere while Army units...
I see that point, but I also think that the Marines will continue to have aggressive leadership that, in the future, lobbies for missions past the beachhead.

Edit: realizing how ignorant I am to this new doctrine, but color me skeptical that during future large conflict Marines will have any different of a mission than they have the past 100 years. ...
I don’t take it as gospel, but 6 failed to show up on the incoming shift. Someone will have better info than me, but I don’t think it’s super widespread like is being reported. At least not yet.
Just heard from a recently retired friend in ATL that 6 officers were “sick” on the incoming shift.
There is a part of me that wishes they all no-showed.

It’s pretty clear and well documented that during Virginia’s secession convention of 1861 that their states’ right to slavery was a (if not the) core issue. I do agree with you that there were other...
Agreed, and well said.
Anyone who believes that the civil war was not directly about slavery should read South Carolina’s declaration of secession. There is no getting around that document which...
My heart goes out to you and your family. Try to remember that it’s just your career, and not worth destroying a family over. It will be the elephant in the room even if you don’t discuss politics....
Well said, this cannot be over-stated. It has essentially been my statement to anyone saying there must be fundamental change, or who cites systemic racism.
To add to the comment; look at the...
Ahhh, retired qual day. When I have to do my annual retired qual I cringe every damn time. First off, I’m in Illinois where they essentially privatized the process. IL retired officers must pay...
Right on. I think there were some great responses to your original question. I was making a friendly joke about the other good (but beyond the scope) advise being added. Great info either way. ...
If your (edit)family member is asking you for advise I’d send him a couple links and be done with it. If he can’t do simple internet research like this himself he isn’t going to watch training...

Blast from the past for sure. For me it was 1999 with ALICE pack and M16a2. I wouldn’t mind going up it again some day in less constricted circumstances.
Does anyone know if they let civilian...
Haha. Same here. I’ll share a story that should add substance to O.P.’s thoughts:
When I was in the early ‘00’s military I did the same thing; my guns were always being “transported” in my car...
Redhat,
I’d urge you to wait until this pandemic dies down so that you can at least put hands on some samples at a LGS. Wingshooting shotguns are mostly about fit, and without getting into custom...
Military operations in foreign countries are generally worth mentioning to the public. Unless they are secret, and then it that case,... they are secret. All I’m saying is that he seems to have...
