Are there any reports on this one in use for competition?
What is its purpose?
If the front and rear of the optic seat firmly against the front and back of the slot, as does the DeltaPoint Pro, the recoil forces won't have to be carried solely by the screws. Is that the case...
Oddly, at least to me, I see that the OZ9 full size (Glock 17 size) weighs only 6 oz more than the Glock!
I want one, too. It SHOULD have the reliability of a Glock with more metal and a better (for me) grip angle. Not to mention it doesn’t look like a brick.
Thanks for the feedback! I have read some about the double fire and barrel lug problems. They may have been early teething problems, which is no excuse for a company such as ZEV or a gun of its cost....
Who’s up on all the ZEV OZ9 “stuff?”
How many have been sold?
I don’t see much discussion, after the release, of this pistol on the usual forums. Had the interest died off? Am I looking in...
I have to pile on here and say that every experience I've had with LTT since I ordered my LTT Elite (shortly after they were available) has been super good. Fast shipping. Fast replies to emails....
If you're thinking USPSA, it would have to be Open because CO doesn't allow SA. :(
I don't want a Glock cut on my 1911 slide. As far as I'm concerned, a Novak front sight dovetail is perfect. There are LOTS of available sight options and that dovetail is a near-standard.
I've put them in my 92s, too. The right side lever is much nicer than that on the FS safety, too.
That price is square in Dan Wesson territory and I can hardily recommend them. Dan Wesson 1911s are no Wilson Combats nor Nighthawks (and others), but they are all "real" steel (no MIM, no cast, no...
It's hard to argue about a $2,500 Wilson Combat! I don't have a place for one (although I'd like to handle that grip texture), but if I were looking for a "better" 1911, this one would have my...
See Dan Wesson. Their DWX is essentially a 1911 upper, 1911 trigger, and CZ grip for CZ mags.
I'm sorry to hear it didn't work out as well for LTT as it did for me on my 92 LTT Elite. The gun is still the perfect 92 and I just got the new LTT trigger bar and an 11# spring to try. It's hard to...
I'm sad to see traditional gun makers moving to plastic guns. Wilson Combat Berettas and Nighthawk HiPowers are one thing, Glocks and M&Ps are another.
P.S. Even LTT has expanded beyond Berettas...
The Dan Wesson DWX might be right up your alley.
The DWX sure looks like a winner. I wonder when they will be generally available for sale? It sure would be good for DW if they were out early enough in the year for interested folks to get one in...
It’s the shooter’s skills. But Ben Stoeger has won four out of the last five USPSA Production Division National Championships with a full metal DA/SA (CZ and Tanfo).
Easy, but not cheap. If you find a slide, it’s usually a complete slide and over $300.
Does anyone have a source for stripped slides at a better price?
There is a lot of “use the gun that last year’s winner used” going on. As in all sports. But the top guys pick the gun they think they have the best chance of winning with. Hwansik Kim is running a...
It would be a “metal gun,” in my view, if the frame was all tungsten. SIG has injected tungsten (a clever idea) into the polymer of their frame to achieve their weight target.
While I agree the X-FIVE Legion will be a fine competition pistol (the Q5 Match SF is a metal gun), USPSA Production is dominated by the metal CZs and Tanfoglios.
The cool thing about the X-FIVE...
At some point, if you want a metal gun, you need to buy a metal gun. P226 Legion SAO?
Have a gunsmith, knowledgeable about the 1911 platform, take a look at the pistol(s) and sensitize the grip safety to suit. Almost everything about a 1911 is customizable and tunable by a good...
