I agree, CQB. I don't like plastic followers in 1911s.
Somehow though, they work really well in my Smith gen 3s and Sheilds.
Just like Smith's external extractors in their 1911s and gen 3s,...
Of the ones I installed, none required any fitting.
Even more way totally agreed. Just burn it to the ground, my trust is gone, never to return.
I guess to me the worst of the worst with this whole debacle is what the NRA could have accomplished. The largest crime to us as members to me is that for decades the NRA's concentration & money...
SW CQB 45
As a heavy .45 man, have you tried the Clark three leaf spring that has four leaves? It's been standard with their (his) Bullseye pistols for decades. I hadn't ever tried one until...
I love the weight of the Lite, but as you say, they are muzzle light.
But then I screwed a silencer on it. Oh, my. That pistol is more fun than should be allowed.
As a gunsmith/pistolsmith I can tell you that wood or fiberglass to drive a bullet out of a barrel can lead to real problems. Oil and a brass rods are your friends. I would use a .312 (5/16ths) rod...
CQB,
I would insert a small pin punch in each end, meet in the middle. Then clamp both with vise grips (I use ones that the jaws are ground smooth).
Rotate till you're happy.
Strickly my opinion, I haven't tried it but I'm pretty sure that the Win Mag will work better for you than the Long Colt. I agree with your assessment 100%.
What is the .45 WSM?
Well alright then.
Very nice piece. I met a man who had one of the Sporters and he graciously let me shoot a magazine full. What a shooter! Those star-gauged barrels are no joke.
If that's an NRA Sporter you're a horrible human being and I hate you to the end of the world.
Sweet load. That'll dust both sides of anything living in America, except (maybe?) a bison.
Too bad you can't shoot for shit! :)
Wow. A lot of very cool features, and what a price!
If that was mine, I'd file on the cheapest part. Then I'd peen the slide material back to where it came from
I never liked the way stainless gun were so easy to scratch, so I started running them...
Did not see this shit coming when I moved away in '08.
Damn glad I did now.
I could certainly be wrong, but don't the one's that came off your 58 have chamfered or rounded bottom edges? There were lots of other N frame Magna grips, but they weren't rounded like the ones on...
Colt191145lover those diamond grips on your 58 were specific to the 58. Smith didn't put them on any other pistol. They were called Detective grips, if I remember correctly. As such, very scarce,...
Another nice piece! This thread is full of 'em.
What load/bullet are you showing there?
Nice piece!
"Haversacks" Now there's a word you don't hear often these days.
Well, I'm pretty sure I won't be convincing you of anything.
We have very different viewpoints of what the NRA was responsible for, or not. The NRA (in my view) didn't contribute to the cultural...
Don't be ridiculous. I'm sure very few of us want the NRA gone. I sure don't. Back when it was 'our' NRA it accomplished many wonderful things. That was before that asshole took it over.
Now...
Mmm. There are certainly important things happening in the USA right now, but I would rank gun rights up near the top of the list. Not necessarily the top, but near it. Helping us out with...
What fatdog said is correct. I would add that in the days of yesteryear, pistol companies used to cut a slight but noticeable chamfer right in front of the chamber. Called a throat it eases the...
I agree DanLehr. Dubious at best.
The danger to the nation if the NRA/ILA collapses is enormous. And I don't think it's a case of "if". Sometimes when there's a little smoke, it just may be a...
