Thanks for the info.
In my limited research, it seems that in-house MIM (HK, S&W, Glock(I think)) has higher CQ than outsourced (Sig).
That would option 2 for me.
That sounds interesting. Would that eliminate all the MIM parts?
How hard is the P07 to work on?
I'm thinking of sticking with the Kahr PM9 for CCW and a Beretta 92X Centurion for HD.
I have a Sig P232 and P228 with no MIM. I also have a 2016 92FS Italian. I've replaced the poly-covered trigger with a Wilson short reach
steel trigger. I also have a Kahr PM9, which has been great.
First off, Happy Thanksgiving Day, everyone.
I'm not a fan of MIM parts in firearms. The debate has been done to death,
and I have no desire to repeat it here. What I would like to know is:
if...
I was a Sig LE armorer for many years (I'm retired now). The P228 used roll pins. The P229 at some point was switched to a solid pin.
Sig has a checkered history of using substandard Indian MIM. Sig...
I began to dislike MIM, when the firing pin positioning pin broke in half and fell out of my P229.
This is why I don’t like MIM.
If my math is right, 42.8% of respondents carry some version of Glock 9mm pistol as their CCW.
A poll of carry loads would also be interesting. FWIW- I use Federal HST 124gr standard pressure 9mm...
I have medium/small mitts. Try the Beretta APX.
I got to try several poly 9mm’s for fit during a slow
Day at the Fun Shop. The M&P Compact 2.0 fit my hand very well.
The G17 gen 4 fits better...
If you don't mind me piping up, check out the Sig SP2022 with the small grip shell (Sig calls it a grip plate).
First, thanks for everyone's replies. I knew that I would get some knowledgeable answers here.
Bill brings up an interesting observation. FWIW, I may be able to shine a little light on it. My...
Does anyone know the history behind the three dot contrast sights? Were they first developed based on tritium night sights and
then gun manufacturers put painted dots on their pistols to mimic the...
If you are considering pocket carry, I'd look at the Kahr CM9. I have a PM9 (more expensive version of CM9) and G43.
The CM9 is smaller and works far better in the pocket. Buds has them for $308.
...
Kahr PM9 in UM#4 pocket holster because
I work in business casual clothing with a tucked in
Shirt.
More muscle mass in the back/less fat.
It is the best Glock yet- IMHO.
Nice to see the G-19 love. I'm digging my G-19 gen 4 (I have a G-17 G4 too).
What holsters are you folks using? I'm interested in something easy to take off and
Put back on in a vehicle.
More info- including dimensions. Three backstrap sizes ala the M&P.
I wonder if the slide serrations are designed to be racked on a boot, holster, or belt for one-handed loading?
They look like...
I can't figure out if the slide is supposed to be great for cycling with gloves on or is risk management trying to make "Mexican" carry
impossible?
Looks like Beretta is finally jumping on the poly-framed, striker-fired bandwagon.
As a LEO firearms instructor (retired), I strongly suggest making your issued duty pistol "the One".
Every time you qualify, train on duty/off duty, dryfire at home, practice one hand and/or weak...
My Glock 26 has been my J Frame, since they came out. It was my station, back up, and off duty weapon until I retired.
I bought a 649, when I graduated from the Detroit Police academy back in '89,...
I'm very happy with my new SP2022 9mm. Recoil is minimal. You can get small, medium, and large grips along with a short or regular trigger. I've shot the SP2340, and the recoil was the same as a p229.
