I think the best coffee that I've made myself was in an insulated French press, where I controlled the temperature and ground my own beans (not a burr grinder though). While it was good coffee, the...
Just got back from seeing this movie. I have mixed emotions about it. It was the first time I think I've ever been to a movie where there was complete silence from the audience when they were...
This article just about summarizes the things a few of the top shooters in the Precision Rifle Series told me about 3-4 years ago when I attended a local-ish match. At the time I was contemplating...
Any thoughts on a bolt action in 17 hmr? Although the ammo is about 2x as expensive as 22LR, it does have at least twice the range.
I bought my kid a 15-22, but since he is only 2 years old, I'll...
I happened to come across this pdf file with a bunch of drills and standards in one place. Looked pretty handy. http://progunfighter.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Drill-Book-March-2013.pdf
The CSAT standards were pretty much driving my rifle range sessions. I just ran each one until I could meet the standard a few times in a row and then called it a day.
I'm almost to that conclusion on the bolt gun, and fortunately I don't have too many $$ sunk into 6.8 since I decided to spend some money on parts that could go in any direction (223/300blk/6.8/etc).
I have been on the road to 6.8 for a while now, and this thread has me reconsidering that decision.
My purpose was un-suppressed use in a 16" barrel (i.e., 300BLK was ruled out as a result) for...
Bit of an older post, but I've been looking into this lately as well.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the issue of a "garage door" style of safe (e.g., v-line desk mate or Gunvault style) vs an...
That bully should have started working his hips and then driven to knees or guard.
Oh, and Christmas Vacation....only because I don't really consider Die Hard a Christmas movie. It is much more...
Andrew Tuohy at vuurwapenblog did a similar study, however his blog where the results were posted has vanished from what I can tell.

I don't think 6.5G has anywhere near the market support that 6.8SPC or 300BLK has, not to mention ammo availability. Sure you can find the stuff, but options are much more limited than they are with...
Too late to the show on this, but Rainier Arms has a complete 308 option available for about $2,700. They (the company, not the rifle) have a pretty good rep and the price point seems to be somewhat...
How does the mounting system on the Centurion CMR fit into this mix? Seems to be a proprietary option. That had been my pick for a new build, however MLOK/KM have given me some pause on this.
As...
I may have missed this in the 89 pages of this thread, but can you "thumb the striker" on the VP9 like you can on a Walther PPS? Specifically, I'm asking this under the context of reholstering while...
Thank you for the detailed write up. I wasn't aware that this was even an option in DFW. I had actually planned on getting involved in some local orienteering as a means to get some land navigation...
I have purchased some combat gauze through Amazon (I believe Grunt Gear may be the actual seller). If I recall correctly, the expiration date is 2 years out. I'm not sure what the expectation or max...
My 2007 Chevy Silverado burns oil and apparently the amount it burns is within the limits of acceptability for GM. That is the first vehicle I've owned that burned oil (out of 9 vehicles).
Sounds like a very Merry Christmas for you then. I know the TCI models are very popular on Lightfighter. At about $300, I'm not sure what the price point is where you reach the point of diminishing...
Is there any significant difference between those and the TCI models (made by Sordin)? They claim "Environmental standards and performance exceed Supreme and Pro-X", but who knows.
I have these. They worked well, until I used them in a 2-day class that had a light drizzle going almost the whole time. Now they have some snap, crackly and pop noises. IMO, the electronics push the...
You know what, you're right. Two separate things. Bad question.
So I ended up with a quik clot trauma pad and an Olaes bandage in the kit I put together as my "hemostatic remedy", which might have other uses. Would Combat Gauze alone replace these two items...
I'm guessing the hole in the back of the slide is for an exposed striker (a la Walter PPS). If so, it would appear as if this could make this pistol AIWB-friendly. Grip texture looks very aggressive....
