Check. Reticles are a very personal thing.
My PM2 5-25 MSR is the best scope I have owned, or used.
Good questions. My carbines are used for home / backcountry defense and "practical" competitive shooting.
The ATACR 1-8 is an excellent scope, but very spendy. The new S&B 1-8 looks like it may...
Definitely for me, it is a dealbreaker. My requirements: Daylight bright illumination, true, bright 1x, mil/mil FFP with a usable reticle, and <20oz.
I do not care about magnification above 6x.
I've tried to understand this as well. It's puzzling, given some really smart people I know there. I've heard it said that hunting and cush .mil contracts drive most of their product development.
Yikes.
I can try to find out.
Sadly, yes. It is a great scope. I have no plans to part with mine.
Great post. And this is a pet peeve of mine.
I love slab-sided Glocky grips because there is one, unambiguous way to grip them. I can tell instantly if my grip is even a tiny bit off.
Here’s a mod I made to an armorer’s block to make it easy to remove the hammer spring plug. Tip of a dummy round, held in place by part of a dog poop bag core.

Very hard to gauge distance in the video. Any guesses at the range he took the shots?
Here is my custom Lok “full height, full texture” left grip panel on a Shadow2. I run the standard pattern and height on the right side, and sand down some of the texture parallel with the trigger...

I have some inside knowledge about this, and at least one major athletic shoe designer does not actually do this, despite having a world class testing facility. Marketing and design still wag the dog.
In my ideal world, guns would be fabricated “just-in-time”, and we would select the features we want. Grip texture and pattern is easy to apply JIT.
Yeah, marketing is probably a big part of it. Like why OEM iPhones are slippery as fuck and need a case?
Why do nearly all gun designs still lack texture high on the sides of the grip, where it is most needed?

That's a very nice stippling job. Personally, I prefer a fairly smooth backstrap, so the OEM patters works well for me. I find that makes it easier to form my grip on the draw, and adjust if needed....
I prefer TractionGrips to Talon for the P-07. I have them on all of mine, and they make a huge difference. I bought spares, but haven't had to change them, even after years of sweaty carry....
That happened multiple times when my parents were alive. My dad always responded, "Sure, I'll sell you my car. For $50,000 cash." Further interactions did not go well, because he was not very nice to...
The thread about a LEO having doublefeed jam at the worst possible time seems relevant to our discussion. I have seen numerous malfunctions at matches that required not just 20s to clear, but...

Outstanding sour.
No surprise there. Ecology is a field that accepts plausibility as a valid argument.
