Seeing Rhett run his birds head guns on YouTube inspired me to get a 1301T, birds head it (not a simple thing--need the aridus magpul adapter, mossberg shockwave grip and a couple bits of hardware...
Latest switchback for DF lights actually does work on the m2r pro if you wrap some of that thick nonslip tape around the battery cap and the indented area right below it. That's what's in my pocket...
One of the 2.5 MOA had no auto adjust mode out of the box. Didn't actually need it because it's far less effective than the RMR's auto adjust, but figured faulty electronics should be replaced....
2 2.5 SROs and 2 5.0 SROs here. One of each required replacement by Trijicon. 5.0 is definitely better for practical shooting. SRO dot appears to my eyes smaller than other dots of nominally equal...
I have Night Fision white outline 3 dot tritium sights on three g17gen5s. The Bold sights didn't work for me as the rear sight vanished against dark targets in transitional lighting conditions and...

To the point where I've decided to focus solely on irons for a good long while. . . .
Older Docter optics had photo sensor on the front of the base. In my experience it did a better job of adjusting off of downrange light (i.e. what the shooter's eyes are looking at) than the RMR/SRO...
Truly functional auto-adjust would be quite useful both for battery conservation and dot optimization for duty/defensive use. The fact is different lighting conditions dictate different brightness...

I have two 2.5 MOA SROs and two 5 MOA SROs.
Out of the box, one of the 2.5 MOA SROs had to go back to Trijicon for replacement because the auto-adjust simply did not exist. Replacement works.
None...
Unfortunately I have to agree with some previous comments to the effect that:
1) SRO auto adjust does seem less smooth/quick/reliable than RMR T2.
2) Different types of lighting seem to affect...
A problem with Holosun is Chinese quality control consistency. We have samples of one doing fine, but many others not so much. I started with 2 HS507Cs. After both were exposed to water, one failed....
Been playing with the 5 MOA SROs and they are most certainly more useful in auto mode than the 2.5 MOA. Just got them zeroed at an indoor range with bad lighting (dimmer shooting points, brighter...
RMR Type 2 carry and comp: auto. Always seems to go to the right level, with a bias toward too bright--which is good imo.
SRO 2.5 MOA: auto not usable. Way too dim and small too much of the time....

Two g17gen5 slides done for me, I like the design, perfect performance through RMRs, hs507c's and SROs.
GJM, in your opinion, does the 5 MOA dot allow you to reliably run in auto mode all the time? Does it work reliably in low/variable light? With my 2.5 MOA SROs, I have to set them one click down from...
I agree that for truly optimal auto-brightness, the overall curve should be brighter for smaller dots.
That being said, I don't think the tech is precise enough to make it perfectly consistent. ...
Shield UK was great about refunding me for the two I had bought directly (one still unopened) after the lens showed bad scratching after a couple months of use and rain exposure totally killed it....
Figured I'd give an update. Shield in England was very good about refunding my money, including shipping back to them, and turnaround shipping on the second one I had ordered but never opened. I had...
I've tried both of those. Don't waste your money. For me, neither drew smoothly with a g19. Grip hung up on waistband. And couldn't find any remotely comfy position. Slg is correct, stick to...
One more observation, having put away dots for a while before getting back into them with rms: Mike Voigt was right when he said a good way to get better with irons sights is to shoot a dot gun for a...
I pre-ordered the British Shield RMS mini red dot sight with shield ultra low mos plate and received in late October.
For buis I used a dawson .205 tritium front and ameriglo yellow two dot...
SmartCarry mod: buy blackhawk arc holster, like 16 bucks on amazon. Remove clip and retention screw. Position holster where you want it in the SmartCarry pocket, then poke a hole in the pocket...
