The simple solution here is just remove the finger grooves from a gen 3. Have the slide milled to whatever optic you want. Problem solved.
Will it be surplanted by whatever comes out next? Yes....
I’ll third the faded Gibsons as an amazing value.
I’ll throw out the Boss Katana 50 as a really good starting combo amp. It’s got enough power to fill a decent room, but can toned down to 5W for...
No. The Federal LE TruBall DP. I’ve never seen them in stock.

Is any of this affected by a chrome bore? Do they foul less? Clean easier?

Curious about the RN mount. Is there a replacement for the factory rear sight that is more robust?

Both vibratite and loctite work best when used per directions. I would clean the vibratite off, degrease, and try blue loctite torqued to spec.
I would use red as an absolute last resort. Steel...
Utah. As far as I could find, 30 lb legal minimum. I just picked up a Hoyt Torrex and my wife just got a Bowtech Carbon Rose. They’ve been set-up and now we’re trying to find training that fits the...
Outside of tradition, is there a benefit to a longbow?

If you want to dive deep into secular Buddhist philosophy, check out the Dharmapunx NYC podcast.
Others have already mentioned some of the standards, Tao De Ching, Five Rings, etc. These are...
Compound.
I once met a guy at a cigar lounge that was a traditional bow hunter. I still remember his quote, “Any Elk you see while hunting with a recurve bow is a trophy elk”.

So I finally got lucky and pulled a buck tag (mule), however it’s for Archery. I’ve been hunting my whole life but have almost no experience with a bow.
So give me the low down. What gear do I...
He’s cool to listen to, but as people have stated, when it gets real in the back country, it gets real fast. Most of these cases have far more mundane explanations.
Why close to national parks?...
I just finished swapping an aridus stock adaptor for a GG&G one on a 1301 and figured I’d throw out some observations from the swap.
1) While the Aridus design is very high quality, the GG&G...
When I was big into the P series, they were identical with the exception of where the spring notch is located. This is because the spring for the P30 captures the slide stop during takedown.
This...
It’s about 30 seconds with a file to cut the notch for the spring.

You can fit a P30 trigger to a P2000 with very little effort.

Something of an uncommon guitar manufacturer that I have come to love is Duesenberg. I saw Chris Cornell use one and happened on a used paloma at a decent price. As far as I’ve found they are...
I’ve used the BFG vickers in some gnarly brush with a heavy rifle all day and couldn’t be happier with it. I never had any issues with the slider even when coated with the dust that covers everything...
Email from Big Tex Ordinance that Aridus handguards are back in stock. Get them while you can.

The GGG and magpul mounts are both fine, though depending on the age of the 500, the newer Magpul won’t fit without a few extra parts. I have used both with no issues.
Avoid running a clamp mount...
While I don’t think a traditional stock makes one a fudd, this is something I have pondered as well. I’d love it if someone with exoerience could explain why a pistol grip stock (not pistol grip...
A little bit of a thread derail here but there are benefits to going both ways. Contracting out comes with a huge set of risks and other logistical nightmares. Look at the saga of “the gadget” to see...
None. I have BCM panels installed.
As to aridus being a one man shop, I get it. I’ve worked in places that are backed up to hell. I’m backed up 3-4 months on my current work with more coming in....
Not all that much compared to a zhukov. It’s about 14 oz. the zhukov with AL hardware is almost 16 oz. The parts aridus swaps may remove some of that, but I don’t know how much since they have to add...
