When someone acting at my direction shows up here and then causes trouble that I directed him to cause, then I will tell him to stop.
I think you just might overestimate the amount of control I...
Maybe instead of "taking me at my word" you could go cruise my facebook group "Team Doodie Project" and get a sense of what is posted there. There is lots of joking around, foul language, and serious...
I posted that to him with full knowledge that he is a staff member here. None of what I posted was done in secret. There have even been a couple people that are members of the facebook group post on...
Doc,
All of my posts on facebook AND here are open to the public and certainly anyone can view them. I haven't posted anything malicious here or on facebook. Yes I flat out say I started this...
It is my strong suspicion that someone claiming to work for Rudy (whom is in fact a rival to panteao) may have ummm… stretched the truth… a little bit in order to get a competing discount code...
There are still good deals to be had. The Panteao productions code is posted publicly on their website at http://www.panteaoproductions.com/sponsors
That one looks like a good deal.
Ok so there are a few questions floating around then:
What is the fastest technique for hitting a target on a shooting range?
What about when it is a really tough shot?
What is the easiest...
Well... I meant make contact with... as in start to pull the trigger... but what about any or all of those? I don't see a point to limiting the conversation to any one idea or question.
I think you are talking some sense. I never paid much attention to any of this stuff during my own training. I simply get get from the holster, point it at the target, and then pull the trigger. That...
What if (for the sake of discussion) they were to train themselves to NOT do this. What if they waited until the gun was on target to pull the trigger? What would the diagnosis of the technique be at...
To demonstrate what IPSC actually is I have for you guys a video of an regional match I shot last year. Looking back at it I can find only one example of simply standing in place and shooting a close...
I think you misunderstood my post. I was not advocating an “index” draw or any other sort of draw. I am just clearing up misconceptions that many shooters hold about the sport I compete in.
I can...
That is absolutely false. It is generally to a shooter’s advantage in competition to get moving while drawing if the scenario allows it. Also, there are many draws onto more difficult targets at...
This is an interesting article from Caleb:

I think we could get a conversation going about the advantages and disadvantages of...
I have had this exact issue when a chunk of my frame broke off right where the locking block hits the slide rails. I have heard of it in other high volume guns as well.
I think this is a fair point. I am part of the small faction of a percent and only ever train with other people in that same demographic. I suspect most of the posters here are in the "hardcore" club...
I actually just had a 110 lbs chick in a competition shooting class. She had tiny hands and was running a big glock 34. I advised her the same as I advise a 300 lbs man. Stand comfortably squared up...
What are the advantages or standing upright? I usually stand fairly upright but that was always just a comfort thing.
The second half of my post answered that. When I am pushing hard, I cut corners. Most of the time, it is sight picture and then trigger press.
I don't think the time differs at all in dryfire, but I think it is a poor habit to always draw to a shot. Many people want to pull the trigger just to beat the par time without actually seeing...
Your question is totally answerable.
.8 seconds for a hands at side draw to a sight picture (not a shot) is very easy for guys that train. .6 seconds is common at the upper levels.
Your holster, gun, mag pouches, targets, and target distance all sort of factor in.
1.6 seconds would be pretty good out of an ankle holster but not great out of an open topped strong side holster.
I think if you just treat it like any other gun (except you have to decock it when you are done blasting stuff and then holster) you will be fine. There isn't a lot in the way of special techniques...
What do you think is so mysterious about a DA/SA gun?
Fundamentally, all that has to happen is to manipulate the trigger in some fashion so the gun discharges. Your technique for manipulation of the trigger cannot disturb the sight alignment any more...
