I would add the M66 to the guns listed.
They are shiny and tough, two good things, I think.
I used to hunt with a guy who carried a black-powder only short double barreled shotgun.
Before the woods were cleaned up here there was a overturned '60s sedan in a clearing where
I hunted grouse....
Got several .22 rifles hanging around here.
The ones I shoot most are the 10/22s, a Ruger bolt 77/22, and
a Marlin 39A. The Rugers are scoped and the Marlin lever rifle has
a peep sight. Hard...
I am loading my snubnoses with Speer 135 grain Gold Dot loads.
They shoot to the same point of aim as my 158 grain LSWC reloads so
that's good. I can practice with my reloads and carry the Speer...
Just finished The Arsenal Of Democracy by A.J. Baime. Subtitle is "FDR, Detroit, And An Epic Quest To Arm
An America At War".
About the successful effort to arm the U.S. forces with four-engine...
I was reading this earlier this morning when the same story came on FOX.
Always feels a bit strange when that happens.
Please throw my name into the generator.
Thanks.
Went to a turkey shoot.
Shot a scoped club 10/22 at steel silhouettes. (They seemed to have gotten
smaller since last time.)
Also shot a scoped Browning Buckmark carbine. A young man was ...
"Been On The Job Too Long" by Dave VanRonk comes to mind.
Evidently from an actual incident in St. Louis.
"Twinkle, twinkle shiny star,
Along comes Brady in his 'lectric car.
Knockin' on...
Got .45s but no snake shot so count me in, please.
I started with Bullseye in 1976. Unique came along shortly afterward and I still
use a lot of it. Only use other powders, usually H110 for Magnum pistol loads.
Bullseye and Unique are still...
Wandered downtown and picked up a left-over turkey license yesterday.
In the fall, hens and toms are fair game and some hang around where I
grouse hunt. A couple years ago I waited too long and...
I would buy the Ruger .45 Colt.
Have been meandering in that direction for a while now.
Missed one many years ago, and have been kicking myself for that
lately.
Nothing today. Yesterday I took an AR with a .22 top end to the range
and shot it at 25 and 50 yards. Went pretty well, I think.
Also had a S&W Highway Patrolman along. It has rubber grips...
I'm in too.
So far all my plans consist of driving to the next county and hunting
ruffed grouse. Last year was a bad season. Hoping for better
this fall.
On the plus side, I can leave my house and be...
Speer 135 grain JHPs. The "short barrel" load.
I started out with a .30-06 and have moved to the .250 Savage.
If buying now I might be getting a rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor.
The rifle I use now is a Ruger 77RL. Scope is a Leupold 2-7...
At the 1988 NRA Convention in Orlando a .45-70 revolver was offered.
Bigger across the cylinder than the later BFR and had a brass trigger guard with
a straight back piece on it. It may have also...
CZ and Howa make bolt-action carbines in 7.62 X 39.
The magazines are detachable and protrude from the stock a bit.
Would that make them "scary" as well?
One generation. My mother was an Army nurse in the Pacific. She was in
the Philippines when Manila was taken back from the Japanese. She took care
of some of the rescued men from the...
Folding shovel, socket set, hammer, a couple screwdrivers, flashlight, two old orange vests, rope
and some blankets and jackets.
You might try The Sea Runners by Ivan Doig.
Not the same neighborhood as Hiassen but a good story.
Rocky Mountain Reloading also has .45 FMJs.
I have bought bullets and cases from them and been happy.
