The Schwartz - was Roy weatherby lying about hydrostatic shock?
Good info MOLON thank you
"significantly" Faster, lighter, monometal is what I guess i shouldve said....
a 9mm 115 grain isnt really what i meant by "faster lighter"
ANyway I think were off...
Molon
Thanks for the links.
One thing I will say that I’ve noticed with regards to hunting is light for caliber, monometal bullets kill game very quickly and still exit despite the lighter...
Shot with same 4.25” 9mm at same distance.
The 147 HST seemingly dumped way more energy initially in the first jug causing the cap to fly off. The 90 grain XD (not +p)
Basically zipped right...
Thanks - I was merely trying to see if some of those in the know that post here had beard of anything….
I didn’t say it was a design change, I noticed there looked like a difference and was asking if anyone had heard

Yeah my newer ones, the newer style boxes have the blue primer sealant, my older ones out of the old style box have red primer sealant
Well I guess my question now is how many generations are there total, and how many generations have a double cannelure?
Because these two were bought 6-8 years apart and have a complete different...
I think the “re-design” that got all the attention was within the last couple of years.
I might be wrong.
I noticed that but they were purchased in 2015-2017 timeframe and have the old box so I figured they were the older one…
I only posted this as it was an observation I made when I opened the box.
They may be better and/or perform exactly the same. Maybe it was a machine out of tolerance and there is no change. I just...
On the the boxes they came in

Just received new in stock from target sports USA. Opening is getting smaller and looks like it now has a thicker mouth as well
I have the original old box design 147s from years ago, then some...
Got to agree with the shotgun.
I have the federal flite control 00 buck in my Mossberg persuader.
This wad keeps the pattern tighter for longer distances.

I can’t count how many deer I’ve shot with it …. 10 or 12 maybe? I double lunged a big bodied Saskatchewan whitetail buck with it, ran about 20 yards and fell over. Of course it exited. Velocity...
The 30/06 has a 12mm longer case thus holds more powder. That’s it
The velocity/trajectory differences generated by this difference at 300 yards or less are not appreciable for big game hunting....
That’s why you go light for caliber in the tipped tsx (ttsx) and drive them as fast as possible, they expand, retain weight, and still dig deep.
At 308 velocities you really have a lot to choose from
150 grain ttsx
165 partition/accubond
I’ve hunted with a 308 solely for 20 years , mainly deer but some hogs.
My go-to load in 130...
Luckily, I have a gazillion 147 HST's, mostly older style, but 150 of the new as well. I will be carrying those without a doubt, no reason to carry the Ranger, it was 27$ for a box of 50$ (much...

Bullet hit above Clorox.

Newer style 147 HST - just a sample of one
As mentioned here, seems like they expand slightly less and penetrate a little deeper, mushroom doesn’t peel down as far on the shank
Three water jugs...
I totally agree! It’s just if I have a bullet that I’m confident will expand (hst), I’d rather use that
