Staccato probably was not thrilled when Ben first bought one of their pistols, but this has turned out quite well for the company
Stoeger reported something similar with a Staccato XC, but switching from a 7 to a 11 pound recoil spring fixed that.

I have that same Vaer, and while I haven't had it that long, it has kept great time.
A neat thing about the Marathon is the ability to change the battery without opening the main case.

I would really like it if that Casio had sapphire, solar and atomic but that gets to a nearly $500 watch, where there are a number of alternatives.
Do you think the old ones were tougher or more fragile?

Wouldn't a quartz Marathon 41mm Navigator with a battery you can change yourself be a candidate as well?
