Own a 350 I got on Amazon for well under the list price. Love it.
- Quick deploy tang on the back of the blade is handy.
- Great build quality.
- Holds an edge well enough for EDC purposes.

I'll check it out.
The Mighty 7-3...King of the Light Twins. I like the jet and the company.
New Part 121 commuter. Company FOM is passe about uniform specs other than "black belt". Looking for TSA-friendly belt, non-leather preferred but not mandatory.
Anyone tried Klikbelts TSA model?...
QTH earlier this week at W6/CC-075. Only a 1-pointer, probably the coolest SOTA summit I’ve activated. If you’re in the SF Bay Area and get the chance, recommended.

I love it. Someone needs to do a Spokane version.
Yesterday and today I managed a few SSB contacts on 10m in addition to a good amount on CW. Conditions are great.
I think you’re right. There are a few guys who tune just slightly off center and their signal stands out. K6EL in San Fran is a master at this.
This thing just gets better. Can’t wait to get it out in the field. Might have to sell a kidney to pay off the card though.
In CW I believe that’s the equivalent of “Zero Beat”. Works like a champ.
Word on the street is Wayne N6KR confirmed FT8 firmware coming to the KH1 soon.
Also apparently that paddle return spring is crap. Elecraft is upgrading it before the first batch is delivered.
...
Agreed. I ordered one.
You absolutely do.
Recently learned CW…it’s a ton of fun! If you think of it like learning a second language, but easier since you're already familiar with the structure and syntax. It does take...
Interesting. That kind of defeats his use case for the KH1 as Wayne's a huge proponent of standing-portable ops. But it makes sense people want to use the KH1 like a MTR, particularly with a...
The APDZ podcast (NJ7V) had a blurb about a S2S 6m event in June. I'm hoping to use the 818 for 6m, plus a LNR 6m dipole I just got. I've not made a 6m QSO on the magic band yet. Sounds temperamental...
Just picked up a FT-818 w/ CW filter from another SOTA op in MA. SO-239 hookups on the back plus he did a Anderson PP conversion for the power. Planning to get the armor rails and a Windcamp battery....
630 pts here! It's been a good summer so far. Maybe not by spring, but not too far behind.
That checks. Bands have been wonky last few days. I did 2x 6-pointers today. Got 20 QSOs on the first, 16 on the second. CW on 15m, 20m and 40m. Lots of QSB, QRM, fading, etc. First time I've had...
Chris, can you recommend a EFHW calculator that shows resonant pairs, i.e., 20/40, etc? I'm working on another EFHW matching unit for hopefully 30/17, or maybe 30/15. I built the K6ARK kit last year...
Aye Chihuahua! We don't get many sneks this far north. I did a FA on a hill in SE WA a couple summers ago and stumbled on a 'Rattler Condo' type nest with tunnels, several large adults, etc. // Does...
I've got the MTR-4B, CW only. It weighs about the same as the KX2 and about 1/2 the size of a VHS cassette. Great radio, awesome filters but very few front panel controls.
For instance, there is...
The first two seasons of Mando were 'made for TV' level drivel.
We're enjoying the third season so far. Better production quality, FX, etc. No where near the level of Andor, but much better than...
"Don't care, it's an HK and I'm buying one" seems to fit.
Also, it looks like a slide lock behind the take-down lever, but no slide lock detent on the slide itself. Safety?
Boo! Would someone please re-post this for us Insta-noners?
ETA: Not on TFB, I checked.
ETAA: Found it. https://soldiersystems.net/2023/02/28/enforce-tac-23-hk-sfp9-cc/
MACROStream, 2x bigger than the Microstream. Twice the output, same charging scheme as it's little brother.
It doesn't have the everyday people batteries, but could be easily charged by the...
There's an oft cited factoid in which DoD states a pilot gets one ejection per career and can return to fly, resulting in about 1/4" permanent loss in standing height. An instant-onset 40G ride is...
