My personal experiences with the Kimber are limited to the BP 10 2, the Polymer Double-stack variant.
It's been robust, easy to shoot, and reliable with every kind of ammo that I've run through it....

I get it, I sometimes carry one, but rarely. I find that the Glock 19 / 17 series of pistols is just fine for my everyday needs. Still, I have found the 1911 can be a fun thing to have.
