It's a pretty good indicator of frame strength.
No evidence exists to support that assessment

No, there is not enough real estate on the SP101 cylinder to fit 6 .38 chambers.
The toothfairy told me.

Yes, the tooth fairy made it a 44 special. I know.
Okay Rambo ...
The GP100 .44 special chambering was an engineering and a legal decision. The GP100 is not capable of handling 44 mag ammunition. The frame is too weak. Period.
Framing the same absurd notion...
I won't argue that a GP100 will handle 40,000 full power rounds - that sounds about right. Given the US border patrol did the test, that would be probably mean SAAMI pressure level ammo which tops...
?
Is this inane prattle supposed to mean a GP100 frame is as strong as a L-Frame? LMAO!
Some parts can go south without warning. I've had a couple of handsprings go in fairly new guns while others are still working as good as the day of manufacture in revolvers that are over 100 years...
Sorry, but your hurt feeling doesn't make my argument any less valid. Nor does it change the obvious facts.
The bottom line is this. Ruger determined that their GP100 frame would not be capable of...
Ruger released the GP100 in 44 special. S&W released the L Frame in 44 mag. There is a reason why Ruger did not chamber the GP100 in 44 mag.
GP100 the most durable gun, my rear-end. Shoot 44mag...
Boy, this one sure went north in price.
No problem, but let us know if you bail out.
Looks like a refinish?
To me this gun with its 4” tapered barrel with fixed sights is the most pleasing on the eyes of all N frames. The only part that I dont like is the front sight - I’d prefer a to have partridge styled...
Look ma, no Hillary hole.
Would this gun be considered a pre-21? The mod 24 has adjustable sights.
I really meant to say "cheaper" but the mind was faster than the finger in my case.
They did say - although admittedly I did not make mention that the comments came from BRNO. I have to make myself look smart every now and again right? ;) :D
"I had dried fired the gun and the...
This is the cheap polymer version, but it shouldn't happen no matter what the cost of the gun is.
I had dried fired the gun and the firing pin got stuck which allowed the retainer plate to slip...
Yep. All the components you see in the pic came tumbling out.
Fortunately this occurred before the transfer.
I’m a buyer
Que?
Everybody needs another 357. ;)
Had I been living in the Philippines I’d be serving a life sentence now! ;)
One of the Colts. You will get zero support from any of the manufacturers where you are, so it’s not an issue worth considering.
As far as I know the Colts have not had canted barrel and other...
it started dismantling itself when cycled. Handy feature for cleaning but not so much for shooting.

The buyer account was created on 12/8/2020. Perhaps a serious gun collector who discovered gunbroker only recently, or somebody who only recently became a serious gun collector? Or some lucky Joe who...
