My LGS has a bunch of new OR Specialists on display in calibers ranging from 9mm to 10mm. Notice the one on the far left is a Commander…

I decided to put the 357 Sig barrel in my 90s era P229. This was 125 grain Speer GDHP from the early ‘20s. While the gun is comfortable when shooting 165 and 180 grain Speer GDHP in 40SW, it sucks a...

This is 5 rounds of Federal 147 grain HST from 20 yards fired supported from sand bags. It’s a bit depressing that I can’t get my Gen5 G34 MOS with Aimpoint ACRO P2 to come close to that.
Confirmed zero at 20 yards with new AmeriGlo Trooper sights. Although some use #6 front and #8 rear on the 45ACP, I went with 8/8 since that what was already installed. The front sight obscures the...
I literally re-tightened mine today to 22 in-lbs before seeing this thread. Fortunately, there were no issues. The ACRO P2 allows torque up to 3 N*m which is roughly 26 in-lbs. Funny, I always got...
So, this chart details the various plate options from DW for their Optics Ready Specialist.

If I’m reading this correctly, then Plate 2 is compatible with both the DeltaPoint Pro and RMSc...
I would disassemble it, clean it, reassemble with generous lube, and try 50 rounds with other mags before sending it back.
The most practical first rifle for 99% of Americans is an AR15. The AR10 should only be considered after a robust capability is achieved with the AR15 platform.
The W. German P220 got a new set of night sights. I went with the AmeriGlo Trooper.

This thread inspired me to update an old W. German workhorse. It is a mid-90s era P229 that was purchased in 1997ish for just $550 new from a Richmond, VA area gun store. Years later, I learned that...
The skin pigment of the accused versus victims was the major factor. Had the pigment levels matched, the verdict would have been different. Skin pigment analysis was far superior to DNA back then.

I plan to put a R3 Max on my P226 X-Five STAS. I’m a little bummed that the X-five uses the Delta Point Pro footprint and cannot directly interface with the optic’s Max footprint. I believe that...
I’m also agnostic to the grip safety as it doesn’t meaningfully add to the safety of the gun when applied to combat or competitive shooting.
Far more important to me will be the track record of...
The premise of this thread is that modern concealed carry needs have evolved beyond to what the legacy P229 has to offer. While this may be true, we must acknowledge that the P229 has also evolved....
No problem Jon. Please see my thread on the Dan Wesson Specialist in 9mm.

Got another 50 rounds of 124 grain SB FMJ w/o failure using Wilson ETM mags.
It now has 1000 rounds with about 25% of that being JHP - mostly 147 grain HST and GD.
50 Rounds of 230 grain SB FMJ through the W. German P220 (18lb). No ignition issues or failures. Now up to 425 rounds.
50 more rounds through the specialist with 124 grain SB FMJ. No failures using Wilson ETM mags.
Round totals are as follows:
Specialist - 1208 rounds
-788 with 124 grain AE
-50 with 124 grain...
Today it was 50 rounds of Federal 230 grain HST without a hiccup.

I’d also rather have a Picatinny scope base.
I fired another 120 rounds of Federal 230 grain AE and 25 rounds of Speer 230 grain Gold Dot. This time, all rounds were fired with a Surefire X300U-A and an assortment of DW and Wilson ETM mags....
This rifle hasn’t been released yet, so you must be referring to a different PWS rifle. However, PWS is known for their quality and accuracy. Thus, perhaps you are confusing PWS with another...
Hit the range again today and fired 80 rounds of Federal 230 grain AE and 25 rounds of Speer 230 grain Gold Dot. Zero failures using DW and Wilson ETM mags (all 8-rounders).
Total Rounds Fired:...
According to the folks at TFBTV, PWS is still trying to work the bugs out of the UXR. There is a brief discussion at the 9:35 mark of this video:
